Chief of Staff in a Premium, Lagos-based Real Estate Development Group - Recruitment Squad ⏲ Aug 26, 2026, 12:02 PM ⋕ View all Entrepreneurship & SME jobs Recruitment Squad - Our client is a premium, Lagos-based real estate development group with an active portfolio of residential and mixed-use developments across prime submarkets of Lagos. The Group operates a JV-heavy, land-for-equity development model and is building an institutional-grade platform benchmarked against leading regional and global peers in real estate, infrastructure, and professional services. The Company is in an active, multi-track growth & expansion phase —it is diversifying into industrial verticals across the Real estate value chain and adjacent markets. They are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Chief of Staff Location: Lagos (Head Office) Employment Type: Full-time Reports to: Managing Director Scope: The Company and its subsidiaries, including industrial and diversified business verticals Position Summary Whoever holds it gets visibility into how every major function operates and where they intersect, a seat in the rooms where direction gets set, and the chance to own initiatives with real weight behind them. In return, the business gets someone who understands it broadly and can help relieve the MD of certain tasks and decisions. The Chief of Staff works alongside the Managing Director to close the gap between strategy and execution, tracking priorities across the business, preparing the MD for high-stakes decisions, and driving initiatives that do not sit inside any one department. Key Responsibilties Strategic Support to the MD: Prepare briefing materials, board packs, and pre-reads that let the MD walk into a room fully informed. Track the MD's priorities across the business and flag what needs attention before it becomes urgent. Represent the MD physically in meetings, if/when required. Sit in on key strategic and operational meetings; own the follow-through on decisions made there. Cross-Functional Execution: Support Marketing/BD on partnership conversations and external positioning. Facilitate credit rating process and capital markets programme, including stakeholder correspondence and investor materials. Work with Legal on contract and governance matters that need MD-level sign-off or attention. Partner with Finance on reporting cycles and the metrics the MD tracks closely. Coordinate with QHSE so compliance and incident issues reach the MD's desk with the right context. Facilitate enterprise-wide initiatives and support the company's growth and expansion priorities. Special Projects: Bring structured analysis to open questions facing the business, and a clear recommendation, not just a summary. Represent the MD's priorities accurately in written materials, whether that is a memo, a deck, or a difficult email. Take on initiatives the MD assigns directly, often ones with no obvious departmental owner and see them through to a result. Office Operations: Keep the MD's calendar, travel, and correspondence running smoothly enough that it is rarely something either of you has to think about. Handle confidential information with consistent discretion, this comes with the territory, not as an occasional exception. Academic and Technical Qualifications Working knowledge of Nigerian corporate governance and capital markets fundamentals (e.g., NCCG 2018, FMDQ/SEC processes) is an advantage. Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to a standard suitable for board and investor-facing materials, with working familiarity in financial modelling. An MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business, Finance, or Real Estate from a top-ranked business school is an advantage. Bachelor's Degree (minimum Second Class Upper / 2:1 or equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline, from a top-tier university. A professional certification such as CFA, ACA, or ACCA is an advantage, particularly for candidates from a finance, audit, or capital markets background. Who We Are Looking for: High judgment under ambiguity and time pressure, comfortable making a well-reasoned call with a fraction of the information a specialist would want. A track record of end-to-end ownership: initiatives you conceived, structured, and delivered against a stated outcome, not simply coordinated. 5 years of progressive experience: in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or an executive/chief-of-staff office, ideally with exposure to real estate, infrastructure, or a diversified group structure. Absolute discretion with commercially and board-sensitive information, evidenced through prior conduct, not merely asserted at interview. Exceptional written and verbal communication, tested by real stakes, board packs, investor correspondence, regulatory submissions, not internal memos alone, and credible up to the board and across department heads. Demonstrated financial and commercial fluency, able to read a financial model, interrogate a term sheet, or stress-test a board paper without hand-holding. A genuine trajectory toward general management or executive leadership; this is a launchpad role and only works for someone who sees it as a deliberate step, not a destination. What The Role Offers Breadth across the business: direct exposure to Legal, Finance, Construction, Project management, QHSE, Marketing, Business Development, Corporate planning, and stakeholder management. Ownership: You will run initiatives end to end, with the outcomes attached to your name. A working relationship with the MD: regular, substantive involvement in how priorities are set and decisions get made, not occasional access.
