We are seeking a proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented Accountant to manage and support its financial operations. Key Responsibilities: Support the development and improvement of accounting processes, controls, and reporting systems. Track project-related costs and support financial reporting for grants, research projects, partnerships, and funded programmes where applicable. Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Research, Procurement, Administration, and Management teams on financial matters. Assist with tax filings, statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory reviews. Identify financial discrepancies, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions. Prepare financial analysis and management reports to support informed business decisions. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal financial policies. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, and payments. Maintain proper documentation and financial controls to ensure audit readiness. Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and financial planning activities. Prepare journal entries, financial schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Safeguard company assets and ensure appropriate financial controls are maintained. Perform monthly bank, cash, supplier, customer, and general ledger reconciliations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation. Ensure financial transactions are properly authorized, documented, classified, and recorded. Monitor departmental, project, research, and operational expenditures against approved budgets. Monitor accounts receivable and payable to support effective cash-flow management. ICAN, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or an equivalent professional qualification. Experience: with ERP platforms such as Sage, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar systems.
