We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: Costain, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The ideal candidate will have practical site experience, strong technical knowledge and the ability to work effectively in a team and with stakeholders to ensure that all mechanical work are delivered in line with approved specifications, quality standards and project timelines. We are seeking a reliable and proactive Mechanical Engineer to support the planning, design, installation, supervision and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment across our construction sites. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular inspection of mechanical installations and identify defects, technical issues and areas requiring corrective action. Assist in the preparation of project estimates, material requirements, technical specifications, and procurement documentation. Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, health and safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies. Plan, coordinate, and oversee mechanical engineering works across construction sites and projects. Prepare and review technical reports, progress reports, inspection records, material schedules, and other relevant project documentation. Monitor the performance, maintenance, and safe operation of mechanical equipment used on construction sites. Support the timely completion of projects by monitoring mechanical works against agreed project schedules and deliverables. Review Drawings, designs, specifications and other technical documents to ensure compliance with project requirements. Identify potential project risks and technical challenges and recommend practical and cost-effective solutions. Supervise the installation, testing, and maintenance of mechanical systems, and equipment. Participate in project meetings, site inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities. Monitor contractors to ensure mechanical works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project schedules. Ensure that mechanical materials, equipment, and components delivered to site meet approved specifications and required quality standards. Qualifications and Experience: 3–5 years of experience: in Mechanical Engineering, preferably in the construction or engineering industry. Strong proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD. Ability to interpret and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Professional membership with COREN or relevant engineering certification will be an added advantage. Knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, installation practices, testing, and commissioning. Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline Excellent planning, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
