Kaplen International Community School is seeking a qualified, caring, and experienced Grade 1 Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to support young learners as they transition into elementary education, creating a classroom environment that is structured, engaging, nurturing, and conducive to learning. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons for Grade 1 learners. Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment. Support learners in developing strong foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and other areas of learning. Use interactive, practical, and learner-centred teaching strategies. Monitor learners\' academic and developmental progress and provide appropriate support. Prepare lesson plans, learning resources, classwork, assignments, and assessments. Maintain positive classroom routines and effective behaviour management. Encourage learners\' confidence, independence, curiosity, and love for learning. Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding learners\' progress and development. Support the social and emotional development of learners. Participate actively in school activities and contribute positively to the school community. Requirements: Bachelor\'s Degree or NCE in Education, Early Childhood/Elementary Education, or a relevant discipline. Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with experience: teaching at the elementary level. Experience: working with young learners, particularly Grade 1 or a similar age group, is an advantage. Strong knowledge of foundational literacy and numeracy skills. Excellent classroom management and lesson delivery skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to use creative and engaging teaching methods appropriate for young learners. Proficiency in using modern teaching strategies and digital tools to support learning. Personal Attributes The ideal candidate should be: Calm, patient, warm, and approachable.
