We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Special Needs Teacher (Nursery & Primary) Location: Benin, Edo Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced Special Needs Teacher to support pupils in the Nursery and Primary sections with diverse learning needs. The successful candidate will develop and implement individualized learning strategies, promote inclusive education, and work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and school leadership to ensure every child reaches their full potential. Responsibilities: Participate in staff meetings, training, and school activities. Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and parents to support pupils' development. Monitor, evaluate, and document pupils' progress. Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction tailored to pupils' abilities. Manage behaviour positively and encourage pupils' social and emotional development. Develop and implement Individualized Education: Plans (IEPs). Promote an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment. Adapt teaching methods and learning materials to meet diverse learning needs. Assess and identify pupils' individual learning needs. Requirements: Education: TRCN registration is an added advantage. Professional teaching qualification is required. Bachelor's Degree or NCE in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field. Experience: Experience: working with Nursery and Primary pupils is preferred. Experience: supporting learners with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, or other learning disabilities is an added advantage. Minimum of 2 years' experience: teaching children with special educational needs. Skills: Patience, empathy, and problem-solving abilities. Basic ICT skills. Ability to prepare and implement Individualized Education: Plans (IEPs). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Classroom and behaviour management skills. Strong understanding of special education: and inclusive teaching practices. Other Requirements: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
