Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency. PUI has been operating in Nigeria since 2016, initially establishing its presence in Borno State with a field office in Maiduguri. Over the years, PUI has expanded its humanitarian response to deep-field locations, including Monguno and Pulka, and more recently to Katsina State in Northwest Nigeria. In Borno State, PUI has been a key actor in health, nutrition, protection, and psychosocial support. It supports health facilities in Maiduguri, Monguno, and Pulka, providing primary healthcare services, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), and the management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), both with and without complications, through Stabilization Centers. These interventions are integrated with specialized Gender-Based Violence (GBV) services and psychosocial support. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Pharmacist Location: Pulka, Gwoza LGA - Borno Employment Type: Contract General Objective S/He must ensure proper pharmaceuticals management (storage, distribution, inventory and consumption) for the entire Base, both at the operational bases and health structures supported. The supply chain of medicines must be safe, reliable and documented at all levels. Under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition PM, and the technical supervision of the Mission Pharmacist, the Pharmacist shall ensure the overall functioning of the PUI Base Pharmacies and an adequate supply of quality medicines and medical equipment to PUI projects/pharmacies on the field. Responsibilities: and Task Data Collection, Treatment and Aanlysis: Ensure first aid kits/pep kits are refilled Ensure delivery of drugs and supplies to various sites/ facilities and appropriate use of the management document (inventory records, delivery notes, computer tools etc.) Be able to provide at any given time reliable information on stock, consumption, use of medicines and health products for each project Monthly supervise the data collection (in / out, consumption) of bases and Health Centres and their data entry Supply Management of Bases Health Facilities: Participate in the preparation, distribution, planning, transport and delivery from central stock to bases Collaborate with the supply chain department to ensure the good delivery and receipt of goods and the quality control of drugs received Inform logistics and medical services in the event of non-compliance Inform in advance and work with logistics department for the organization of transport of drugs to bases Stocks Management: Supervise the stock management of particular pharmacies (vehicles, first aid kits, etc..). Ensure that storage conditions are in line with national legislation, in particular for narcotic and psycho active drugs Inform the Mission Pharmacist in case of irrational consumption Participate in the monthly physical inventory and conduct random checking. In case of discrepancies between physical inventory and theoretical stock, investigate and inform the health and Nutrition PM and the Mission Pharmacist Ensure that expired or damaged items are properly collected from the bases and put in quarantine Ensure a proper storage (especially conditions of temperature, humidity, light and safety), order (storage, classification, labelling) and secure (key access) according to the PUI Pharmacy procedures Monitor stock management of the bases pharmacies and health facilities (in collaboration with project managers) Participate in the preparation of donations / loans / exchanges with the Mission Pharmacist Ensure the understanding and application of pharmaceutical storage procedures and tools used at the base level and health facilities supported Capacity Building and Training: Strengthen the capacity of health facilities teams, so that they can assume their duties independently and can be critical in terms of consumption Participate in the training of the base pharmacy assistants, and the staff in charge of pharmacies at PHCC and ORPs: stock management, rational use, substitution, analysis of consumption of health facilities Train all staff working in the pharmacy aspect on rational use of drugs and proper pharmaceutical waste management Mandatory requirements: Education: degree: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacist (Registered with Pharmacist Council of Nigeria) Work experience: At least 2 years’ experience: in pharmaceutical sector Language skills: Fluent in written and spoken English, Hausa and Kanuri is appreciated Working experience: in a NGO / INGO: Other: Strong report writing Computer skills: competent in Ms Word, Excel and PowerPoint and a Knowledge in the use of Sagastock is an asset Assets: High availability Professionalism Problem solving and conflict resolution skills Able to work in a stressful environment Great moral and ethical sense Awareness of political, religious and economic aspects of the community Teamwork Good communication skills Rigorous Flexibility Transversals skills Strong Organizational skills Honesty & integrity, Interest: Commitment to and understanding of PUI’s aims, values and principles Able to work independently Able to maintain confidentiality Salary N712,260 monthly.
