The Trade Services Head is responsible for leading and managing all trade service operations, ensuring efficient processing of domestic and international trade transactions while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements: and internal policies. Key Responsibilities: Trade Operations Management: Oversee the processing of: Documentary Collections Letters of Credit (Import & Export) Shipping Guarantees Trade Loans Bank Guarantees Bills for Collection Standby Letters of Credit Lead and supervise all trade services operations. Ensure timely and accurate execution of trade transactions. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with: Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements: Internal policies and procedures International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules (UCP 600, URC, ISP98, Incoterms) Central Bank regulations Identify and mitigate operational and compliance risks. Customer Service: Resolve complex customer issues promptly. Maintain high service quality and customer satisfaction. Provide technical support to corporate and commercial banking customers. Team Leadership: Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the Trade Services team. Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs. Foster a high-performance culture. Process Improvement: Review and improve trade processing workflows. Drive automation and digitization initiatives. Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Stakeholder Management: Liaise with correspondent banks and regulatory bodies. Collaborate with: Risk Management Corporate Banking Treasury Legal Compliance Operations Reporting: Prepare periodic management reports on: Trade volumes Operational risks Compliance issues Outstanding transactions Revenue performance Present business performance updates to senior management. Qualifications Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage. Professional certifications such as CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist), CITF (Certificate in International Trade and Finance), ACCA, ACA, or relevant banking certifications are desirable. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field. Experience: Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and banking operations 10-15 years of banking or trade finance experience. Minimum of 5-8 years in a leadership or managerial role within trade services or trade finance.
