We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Marine Technical Superintendent (Officer) Location: Rivers Employment Type: Full-time Job Responsibilities: Perform technical compliance audits and investigation on defects/failures on a regular scheduled basis to ensure conformance Work with the Account department in the management of impress received and retirement Work closely with the HSE Management team to ensure smooth and successful implementation of QHSE system and policies for the Division. Perform evaluation for dry-docking, repair quotes and selection of shipyards for repair works, ship maintenance etc. To read the vessel daily reports (VDR) daily and report, promptly, any anomaly to the marine manager Perform monthly review of logs processes and attend to vessel inspections He will be responsible for the overall management and technical operations of our fleet. This includes overseeing the daily operations and maintenance and repair, budgeting, survey schedules, onboard general assessment of vessels, inspections, and docking, etc. Undertake any other Technical related assignments as and when required. Provide and compile documented reports upon completion of dry docking, including summaries of works performed, operational budgets, and actual expenditures. Ensure the assigned vessels are technically operational or otherwise managed accordingly to the management agreement requirement, in accordance with ISM ISPS standards. Liase with customers on technical and operational matters including vessel performance, etc. Work with the Procurement team in the procurement of vessel needs He shall be at alert to attend to vessel emergency 24/7 And any other job management may want him to do. Provide technical assistance and advice to ships both at home port and overseas. Work closely with the HR management team in the recruitment officers and crew Attend to vessel dry docking, repairs and survey when required and determine repair specifications for dry docking and maintenance. Regular visit to vessel and inspect, using company approved forms, and report findings to the marine manager and follow up for close out Ensure and maintain vessels’ zero loss time accident record and to report all vessel incidents, Near Misses to prevent and eliminate potential incidents. To assist the marine manager to review and promote vessels’ crew performance. To source for materials and spare parts, locally, needed urgently Perform systematic review of recommended codes, guidelines and standards and ensure compliance with Quality & Safety Management standards Ensure vessels’ certificates and documents are properly updated and stored. Perform budgeting and cost control measures on ship spares and docking requirements: Ensure effective implementation of the vessels’ planned maintenance system. Monitor technical status of vessel with relation to class cert and survey Work with the chief engineer and his team and take inventory of all equipment and spare parts onboard, maintain records of same and report to the marine manager Identify and source for technical and operational supplies required for the vessels and ensure the rates are most economical.
