They do so irrespective of race, religion, creed, or political convictions. www.msf.org We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Storekeeper Location: Awka, Anambra Contract Period: Fixed Term Contract (subject to renewal). Main Purpose Support in executing the Stock Management activities (receipt, storage, and issuance to projects or other departments of medical supplies, food items, spare parts, tools, equipment and/ or other logistics materials), according to the line manager’s instructions and MSF standards and protocols, in order to ensure the overall functioning of MSF activities. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Monitoring the store temperature and ensuring Cold Chain items are stored in an adequate temperature. Keeping a special control of “sensitive” goods: numbers of lots, expiry dates, packaging and special storage conditions. Receiving orders and deliveries, identifying and reporting potential discrepancies against cargo manifest or others. Stores materials in accordance with the system in force in order to ensure continuous availability. Storing materials in accordance with the system put in place, and ensure Standard Operating Procedure is enforced in order to ensure continuous availability ensuring that all items are well organized and correctly stored, well protected, fully identified and easily accessible (cleanliness, security, access, etc.). Controlling limited access to the Warehouse to authorized personnel only and ensuring doors and other exits are secured. Immediately inform the line manager of any breach/problems arising in the course of the work, particularly with regard to damage, loss, attempted break-ins or theft in the warehouse. Support the line manager with preparation of the stock reports. Preparing orders on time before sending goods, and packs (according to transport means) weighs and labels freight with corresponding shipping number, destination, number of shipping units, waybill number, weight and mode of transport in accordance with the line manager’s instructions. In conjunction with the line manager, performing physical stock counts in accordance with the frequency previously defined. Following up stock levels with regards to alarms thresholds, stock out and expiry dates. Updating and/or creating stock cards for all stock items immediately after reception of goods. Check the received cold boxes and control the cold chain-monitoring card. Supervising materials and goods orders and dispatch in order to ensure its rational use. MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities Maintain in file control work tools ( parking list, delivery, reception,donation,loan, measuring equipment,etc) to support accountability and auduting exercise. Communicate any damage/expiration of any item as per the factory/MSF guidelines Receive new items upon aproval from the technical department/requestor. Create /Maintain up to date the stock cards of the stocks Observe safety protocals during work hours. Keep stock area clean, dry and under required temperature. Ensure safe keeping of MSF assets in the designated stocks and purpose Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications Experience: Essential: Minimum 1-2 years of experience: in Storekeeping, Inventory Management, Warehouse Operations or a related role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Education: Essential: Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Stock, Purchasing & Supply or other related fields. Essential knowledge of basic mathematics and use of measuring equipment Competence: Results, teamwork, flexibility, commitment, service Languages: English Language essential Desirable: Previous experience: with MSF or other NGO in a developing country context is an added Advantage. Knowledge of proper bookkeeping and inventory management Familiarity with standard concepts and best practices in a stockroom or warehouse environment.
