Business / Data Analyst Job Type Full Time Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience: 3 - 5 years Location Lagos Job Field Data, Business Analysis and AI Job Summary The Business & Data Analyst is responsible for transforming business data into meaningful insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across the Group's businesses—365 Petroleum Energy, Vestates Limited, Apex Restaurant, and Zbom Home. This dual-function role bridges the gap between deep technical data analysis and high-level business strategy. You will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights while continuously monitoring global events and market trends. The ideal candidate will provide the leadership team with daily updates on current affairs and macroeconomic shifts that could impact or create opportunities across our real estate, energy, hospitality, and retail operations. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, commercially aware, technology-driven, and capable of converting complex information into actionable business recommendations. Key Responsibilities: Business Analysis & Strategy: Design, maintain, and optimize templates for customer acquisition, property procurement, and vendor performance. Conduct continuous risk assessments across business units, identifying potential financial or operational bottlenecks and proposing mitigation strategies. Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for efficiency, improvement and cost optimisation. Conduct feasibility studies and business case analyses for new products, services, investments, and expansion opportunities. Support strategic planning by providing market intelligence and competitive analysis. Develop dashboards and business performance scorecards for executive management. Monitor key business risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Perform process mapping and recommend automation opportunities where applicable. Track sales team metrics against KPIs, providing data-driven performance insights to department heads. Oversee procurement trackers and conduct localized market surveys to ensure competitive pricing and supply chain efficiency. Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, clean, validate, analyse, and interpret large datasets from multiple business units. Design and maintain interactive dashboards and management reports using Power BI, Excel, or similar business intelligence tools. Prepare periodic reports including but not limited to: Sales Performance Reports. Revenue Analysis. Expense Reports. Profitability Analysis. Diesel Consumption Reports. Procurement Reports. Inventory Reports. Lettings & Occupancy Reports. Short Stay Performance Reports. Customer Analytics. Operational KPI Reports. Analyse trends and identify opportunities to increase profitability and reduce operational costs. Develop forecasting models and predictive analyses to support business planning. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting platforms. Market Research & Business Intelligence: Monitor local and international business news, economic trends, government policies, technological innovations, regulatory changes, and geopolitical developments that may affect any of the Group's businesses. Prepare concise daily executive intelligence reports highlighting relevant business opportunities, risks, emerging trends, and industry developments. Track competitors across the petroleum, hospitality, real estate, retail, and home services sectors. Conduct customer behaviour analysis and identify emerging market demands. Analyse industry benchmarks and recommend best practices. Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, Marketing, HR, Procurement, and Executive Management. Gather business requirements: from stakeholders and convert them into analytical solutions. Present findings and recommendations to senior management. Train users on dashboards, reports, and data interpretation where necessary. Technology & Innovation: Identify opportunities for automation of business processes and reporting. Recommend digital tools that improve operational efficiency. Support implementation of business intelligence and data management systems. Maintain reporting databases and analytical models. Required Skills and Qualifications 3–5 years' experience: in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Management reporting or related field. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related discipline. Experience: supporting multiple business units or diverse industries is an added advantage. Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau). High proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and modern collaboration tools (Slack, ClickUp, Asana). Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of multi-sector business dynamics (Energy, Real Estate, Hospitality, Retail). Excellent research skills with an innate curiosity for current affairs and global markets. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into simple, strategic narratives. Meticulous attention to detail and strong risk-identification skills. Professional certifications in Business Analysis or Data Analytics are an added advantage (e.g., CBAP, ECBA, Microsoft Power BI, Google Data Analytics, Tableau).
