We are seeking a high-performing Commercial & Sales Lead to take ownership of national sales growth, market expansion, distribution, and commercial team performance. The primary mandate of this role is to drive minimum monthly sales of ₦30 million, while building a sustainable nationwide sales and distribution network. This is a hands-on sales leadership role for an experienced pharmaceutical commercial professional who has strong industry relationships, understands the Nigerian pharmaceutical market, and can personally drive business while building and managing a high-performing sales team. Responsibilities: Sales & Revenue Growth: Drive sales across distributors, wholesalers, pharmacies, hospitals, institutions, HMOs, and other healthcare channels. Deliver a minimum ₦30 million monthly sales target. Develop strategies to increase repeat orders, market penetration, and customer retention. Develop and execute aggressive monthly and quarterly sales plans. Personally lead major account acquisition and high-value commercial negotiations. Nationwide Market & Distribution Expansion: Drive participation in relevant institutional and government procurement opportunities. Build and activate a strong network of distributors, wholesalers, pharmacies, hospitals, and institutional buyers across Nigeria. Leverage existing industry relationships to generate immediate sales opportunities. Identify and develop new markets, territories, key accounts, and strategic partnerships. Team Leadership & Performance: Conduct regular field reviews and performance assessments. Set individual and team targets and establish clear performance KPIs. Build a culture of accountability, activity, customer engagement, and revenue ownership. Recruit, manage, coach, and motivate the sales team. Commercial & Cash Management: Ensure sales activities translate into sustainable and profitable revenue. Monitor sales performance, collections, pipeline, and customer credit exposure. Develop sales strategies that balance revenue growth with cash collection and healthy receivables. Work closely with Finance to manage customer credit, collections, pricing, margins, and payment terms. Market Development: Maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, distributors, pharmacy owners, procurement teams, and other industry stakeholders. Monitor competitor activity, market trends, pricing, and customer needs to identify commercial opportunities. Drive appropriate sales and promotional strategies for the company's pharmaceutical portfolio. Reporting & Strategy: Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and territory performance data. Provide management with practical recommendations for improving revenue, distribution, and market share. Provide weekly and monthly sales performance reports to management. Requirements: Strong understanding of pharmaceutical distribution, credit sales, collections, pricing, and commercial operations. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Business, Marketing, Sciences, or a related field. Proven track record of delivering ₦30 million+ monthly pharmaceutical sales or comparable commercial targets. Demonstrated experience: in building and managing high-performing sales teams. Strong existing relationships with pharmaceutical distributors, wholesalers, pharmacies, hospitals, institutions, and healthcare stakeholders across Nigeria. Must be field-oriented, commercially aggressive, relationship-driven, and comfortable travelling nationwide. Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and people-management skills. Strong understanding of the Nigerian pharmaceutical market and relevant regulatory environment. 10+ years' experience: in pharmaceutical sales/commercial operations, with significant experience: in sales leadership.
