The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing regional sales strategies, managing distributors and key customers, expanding market coverage, and leading sales teams to consistently achieve revenue and volume targets. We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to lead sales operations and drive sustainable business growth across Northern Nigeria. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience: in the FMCG industry, strong knowledge of the Northern Nigerian market, and a proven track record in distributor management, route-to-market execution and sales team leadership. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve regional revenue, volume and market-share targets. Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure product availability and minimize stock-outs. Identify new markets, customers, distribution opportunities and potential business partnerships. Monitor distributor performance, inventory levels, sales volumes and market execution. Provide regular commercial updates and recommendations to senior management. Drive sales growth and increase product availability and distribution across assigned territories. Conduct regular market visits to assess sales execution, customer needs and competitor activities. Set sales targets and monitor individual, territory and regional performance. Prepare regional sales forecasts, budgets and performance reports. Monitor trade spending, discounts and promotional investments to ensure commercial effectiveness. Ensure compliance with company pricing, credit, distribution and sales policies. Collaborate with Marketing to execute trade promotions, merchandising and regional brand initiatives. Develop effective route-to-market strategies and improve territory and outlet coverage. Manage and strengthen relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retailers and key customers. Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, product launches and market trends. Analyze sales data and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and address performance gaps. Lead, coach and develop regional sales teams to achieve agreed KPIs. Requirements: Strong experience: managing and developing geographically dispersed sales teams. Minimum of 15 years' progressive sales experience, preferably within FMCG selling pasta, flour and edible oil. MBA or relevant professional qualification is an advantage. Ability to travel extensively across assigned territories. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Management or a related field. Proven experience: managing sales operations across Northern Nigeria. Strong commercial, negotiation, analytical and forecasting skills. Demonstrated experience: managing distributors, wholesalers and key customers. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Excellent understanding of route-to-market strategy and market expansion. Strong understanding of the Northern Nigerian FMCG market and traditional trade channels.
