We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Workshop Manager - Rotating Machines & Engineering Services Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers Position Purpose The Workshop Manager will lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, drive operational excellence and ensure the delivery of high- quality service to customers. To lead the safe, efficient and commercially successful operation of a specialist rotating- machinery repair, refurbishment, rewinding, maintenance and testing workshop in Port Harcourt. Responsibilities: Core Technical: Testing, diagnostics & condition assessment: Perform electrical testing, PD analysis, insulation testing, condition monitoring, fault diagnostics and technical reporting. Rotating electrical machines: Repair, overhaul and rewinding of AC motors and generators up to 11.75 kV/11KV-class equipment. Generators & turbo generators: Manage large AC generators, including air, hydrogen and water-cooled machines and associated excitation and synchronising systems. Mechanical Rotating Equipment: Repair and maintenance of pumps, fans, gearboxes and other rotating equipment with alignment, balancing and vibration analysis. Key Workshop Management: Lead and supervise a team of up to 30 engineers, technicians and support personnel. Manage tools, test equipment, machinery and preventative maintenance. Take full operational responsibility for the workshop including productivity, quality, safety and delivery. Develop the workshop into a centre of excellence for rotating-machine repair in Nigeria and West Africa. Work with Business Development, Project Management and Procurement on proposals and project execution. Review incoming equipment, define repair scopes and ensure quality inspections and testing. Plan and control workloads, job priorities, manpower, equipment and production schedules. Maintain regular reporting on workload, progress, costs, quality, safety and delivery performance. Requirements: Strong understanding of rotating machines, workshop processes, quality control and safety standards. Strong hands-on experience: repairing, overhauling and servicing large industrial motors and generators. Experience: with motors and generators up to 11.75 kV/11KV-class equipment. Excellent planning, leadership, reporting cost-control and customer-facing skills. Experience: with pumps and other rotating equipment. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background (degree/HND/OND or equivalent preferred). Minimum of 15 years' experience: in a senior workshop management role in rotating machinery, power generation, heavy engineering, oil & gas or industrial maintenance. Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams (up to 30 personnel) Desired Candidate Profile: Organised, decisive and to manage multiple projects.
