We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Part Time P.H.E Teacher Location: Lagos Employment Type: Part-time Key Responsibilties The successful candidate will be responsible for: Ensuring appropriate safety procedures are followed during all physical activities. Teaching appropriate principles of personal hygiene, health, nutrition, safety and general wellbeing. Preparing and coaching pupils for school sports competitions and relevant sporting events. Participating in relevant school activities, meetings and professional development programmes. Maintaining professional relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues and Management. Planning and delivering engaging, age appropriate Physical and Health Education: lessons in line with the school's curriculum. Monitoring and assessing pupil participation, progress and performance. Ensuring sports equipment and facilities are used responsibly and properly maintained. Promoting teamwork, discipline, perseverance, respect and good sportsmanship. Maintaining accurate lesson plans, assessment records and pupil progress records. Developing pupils' physical coordination, strength, endurance, confidence and overall fitness. Differentiating physical activities to accommodate pupils with varying abilities and learning needs. Organising structured drills, games, sporting activities and practical exercises. Inspecting sports facilities and equipment before use and reporting any hazards or defects immediately. Collaborating with other teachers to support interdisciplinary learning and the school's wider talent development objectives. Identifying pupils with sporting potential and supporting their development. Incorporating appropriate Christian principles and values such as discipline, respect, perseverance, teamwork, integrity and responsible stewardship into teaching and coaching. Supporting the planning and execution of the school's Sports Day and other sporting activities. Encouraging pupils to develop healthy lifestyles and positive attitudes towards physical activity. Teaching fundamental movement skills, physical fitness, athletics, games and other appropriate sporting activities. Carrying out any other reasonable duties assigned by Management. Responding appropriately to injuries or emergencies and reporting incidents in accordance with school procedures. Qualifications and Experience: Strong knowledge of Physical and Health Education: and age appropriate sporting activities. Demonstrable ability to plan and deliver engaging practical lessons. Strong classroom and activity management skills. A minimum of 2 years' relevant teaching or coaching experience, preferably within a reputable school environment. Candidates must meet the following requirements: Ability to work effectively with children of different ages, abilities and developmental needs. First Aid or Basic Life Support certification will be an added advantage. A Bachelor's degree from a reputable A list university with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2:1) in Physical and Health Education, Human Kinetics, Sports Science, Physical Education, Education: or a related discipline. Valid TRCN registration/certification is mandatory. Good knowledge of child safety and appropriate supervision during physical activities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate should be: Skilled at identifying and nurturing sporting talent. Disciplined, dependable and organised.
