This amounts to 120 million people living without access to reliable and affordable power. Addressing the access-to-energy challenge in Nigeria requires a combination of both the traditional large-scale power generation approaches and distributed power innovations that are smaller scale, lower cost, and quicker to market. All On Partnerships for Energy Access (‘All On’) was established by Shell as an independent impact investing company to work with partners to increase access to commercial energy products and services for the underserved and unserved off-grid markets in Nigeria, with a special focus on the Niger Delta. All On builds values-driven local and international partnerships to help scale business models. It seeks both financial returns and social impact - to provide and/or improve access-to-energy for millions of households and SMEs. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Communications and Partnerships Manager Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time What will you do? This is a great opportunity to join a nimble and high-energy team that is committed to having a big impact on Nigeria’s future through energy access financing. Externally, (s)he will lead on communicating All On’s successes both nationally and internationally while managing All On’s partnerships with strategic stakeholders, ranging from co-financiers to fund recipients. Internally, the CPM will be responsible for developing, executing, and supervising All On’s communications strategy. This position is responsible for managing the Communications and Partnerships department, with a focus on strengthening All On’s partnerships. (S)He will also oversee All On’s ecosystem-enabling grants process and portfolio. As a member of All On’s dynamic leadership team, the Communications and Partnerships Manager (CPM) will play a critical role for the organization both internally and externally. The candidate will be required to do the following: Communications: Direct executive thought leadership initiatives, including (but not limited to) speeches, keynote addresses, impact reports, opinion pieces, newsletters, website content, brochures, and press releases. Plan and execute communications campaigns, corporate milestones, and high-profile initiatives that enhance All On’s awareness and stakeholder engagement. Lead the creation of high-quality communications materials, platforms, and engagement frameworks that effectively communicate All On’s strategic priorities and achievements. Develop and implement integrated communications and reputation management strategies that advance organizational objectives, strengthen visibility, and reinforce institutional credibility. Serve as the primary liaison with agencies and media stakeholders. Coordinate media engagements, interviews, briefings, and promotional events to strengthen All On’s visibility. Advise and support executive leadership on strategic positioning, messaging, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs activities. Oversee digital communications channels, leveraging data and audience insights to continuously improve engagement and communication effectiveness. Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and execute stakeholder engagement strategies that strengthen relationships at the intersection of the renewable energy, impact investment, and social impact ecosystem and industry networks. Lead the conception and development of partnership opportunities like collaborative programmes that align with All On’s objectives. Collaborate with internal teams to align partnership opportunities with implementation plans, budgets, timelines, and expected outcomes. Convene or support strategic engagement platforms that foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and ecosystem development. Coordinate organizational representation at national and international events, strengthening institutional positioning and advancing organizational influence. Grants and Sponsorships: Ensure grants and sponsored initiatives are executed in compliance with organizational policies, governance frameworks, risk management standards, and donor requirements. Provide strategic oversight of grant portfolios, identifying opportunities to enhance effectiveness, scalability, sustainability, and organizational impact. Guide the development and management of grant-making strategies that advance organizational objectives and deliver measurable impact across priority sectors. Monitor relationships with grantees, implementing partners, and ecosystem organizations throughout the grant lifecycle, from assessment and award through reporting, learning, and closeout. Leadership & Team Management: Contribute to organizational planning and growth initiatives by supporting strategy development, execution, and long-term sustainability. Support multidisciplinary teams within All On, fostering a high-performance culture characterized by collaboration, continuous learning, and shared purpose. Develop and oversee annual departmental work plans, budgets, key performance indicators, operational processes, and resource allocation frameworks to ensure effective execution and accountability. Provide strategic leadership for the Communications, Partnerships, and Grants team, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, priorities, and long-term objectives. What we need from you Comprehensive management skills and experience, including but not limited to short- and long-term planning, evaluation, directing and motivating staff, organizational development, and governance. 15+ years of professional experience, including progressively senior leadership roles within complex organizations. Undergraduate Degree required in Communications, Business, Economics, Public Policy, or relevant fields. Advanced degree preferred. Possess intellectual curiosity and a strong sense of integrity, ethics and ownership. Substantive understanding of the energy access market in Nigeria, including its history, current trends, influential players, as well as common frameworks and impact measurement and management tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to navigate challenging conversations, tell a compelling story, oversee proposal development, and communicate complex themes and ideas in an understandable and approachable manner. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups across diverse cultures, through highly polished external communications and speaking skills. Substantive understanding of, and interest in, the world of investing and capital markets, including the roles and interests of different investor types. Strong strategic, conceptual thinker with demonstrated competency in the design of win-win strategic partnerships and proven track record of sustaining strong, productive relationships with high-value donors and strategic partners.
