Perfection Motor’s was given the sole rights to, assemble and market FAW heavy duty Trucks in Nigeria. Since our inception in 2013 we have made great strides in insuring that we will be ready to service our market by establishing our head office alongside a fully equipped workshop, Parts Department and not to mention an SKD assembly plant in Ikeja. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Experienced and Skilled Diesel Mechanic Location: Sharada Phase 1, Kano Employment Type: Full-time Job Responsibilities: Inspect various parts of trucks, including brake systems, wheel bearings and steering mechanisms to ensure they are in the proper condition to operate effectively Interact with customers and provide them with an explanation of required work and an estimation of the cost Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running properly and to find issues to determine what the solution will be Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devises such as motor analysers, handheld computers and chassis charts to determine how to address problems Replace parts, valves, bearings and gears as needed and repair vehicle cooling and heating systems Use different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, screwdrivers, hoists and jacks, to repair trucks while constantly utilizing safety precautions Perform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries and changing oil to ensure proper vehicle running Measure vehicle emissions to ensure they are within the proper limits Ensure parts conform to factory specifications by inspecting and verifying clearances and dimensions Inspect engines and other machinery to determine repairs to complete, creating detailed reports to facilitate work scheduling Job Skills & Qualifications Required: Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly Excellent customer service skills Two years of experience: working as a mechanic is required, five years are preferred Must have completed standard mechanic certification program Technical certification or Degree High School Diploma or equivalent Must be comfortable with working in awkward positions or cramped spaces Preferred: Critical thinking, analysis and evaluation abilities.
