Often seen as the biggest single generating power station in Sub-Saharan Africa, it was built to meet the every rising demand for electricity in Lagos and its environs. Following the nation’s privatization exercise, Sahara, through its power division, Sahara Power Group and sundry affiliations, acquired the 1320 MW installed capacity Egbin Power Plant. We are working towards deploying a minimum of 5,000 MW of electricity generation over the next five years. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Team Lead, Turbine Controls Job Identification: 634 Location: Nigeria Job Summary The Lead Engineer, Turbine Controls, is responsible for overseeing preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of turbine systems Key Duties and Responsibilities: Perform covering role in the absence of the Unit Head, Turbine Systems Ensures all breakdown/corrective maintenances are duly carried out and documented. Perform other duties as assigned by the Unit Head, Turbine Systems, or Head of Department. Must be conversant with Emerson Ovation control and knowledge on Bentley Nevada vibration system. Ensure adherence to breakdown/corrective maintenance schedule. Addresses issues bordering on human resources and personnel issues and escalates it upward if not addressed for further action where necessary. Ensures all monthly reports are duly done. Develop plant patrol and monitoring check sheet and to be reviewed periodically as determined. Monitor the timely closure of maintenance tasks (TMs) in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Provide support in spare parts planning, budget planning, purchase, and inspection activities. Ensures availability of material and tools required for the job. Execute documentation according to Integrated Management System (IMS) standards. Ensure all preventive maintenances are duly carried out and documented accordingly. Reviews weekly all breakdown/corrective maintenance processes. Ensures all special reports are duly done and documented. Periodically assess all staff under him for training needs for optimal performance. Supervise control systems with a focus on both efficiency and environmental sustainability. Liaise with Lead Engineer Turbine field instrumentation to re – assess breakdowns of equipment for preventive maintenance schedule. Ensures HSE guidelines are adhered to strictly during and on the job. Develop and improve breakdown/corrective maintenance culture. Ensures all risk registers for breakdown/corrective maintenances and the section are kept and reviewed periodically. Implements strategies that improves performance and reliability. Responsibilities: Coordination with other team leads for ensuring efficient plant operations. Coordinate Physical inspection /condition monitoring of equipment in the turbine and boiler sections of the plant Oversee operation of the Turbine and Boiler, during shift duties Unit manpower utilization and allocation during shift duties Plan resource requirements: during shift duties –manpower and operations materials Oversee minor adjustments/repairs as required Education: and Work Experience: Postgraduate /relevant professional qualification Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Computer / Electrical / Mechanical /Chemical or Systems Engineering Minimum of 5 -10 years of work experience: with at least three (3) years in a supervisory level and direct exposure to I&C systems and power plant maintenance processes. Skills and Competencies: Good Technical knowledge and understanding of operations and history of I&C systems. Sound Technical Trouble shooting skills. Good knowledge of computerized Maintenance Management system or equivalent.
