We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Haulage Supervisor – Snacks Location : Osun What You'll Do Haulage Operations & Fleet Coordination: Coordinate transportation schedules to support efficient primary distribution of finished goods. Supervise the daily operations of registered transporters, forklift service providers, and company-owned distribution vehicles. Respond proactively to transportation challenges and implement corrective actions to minimize delivery disruptions. Monitor vehicle movement and performance to ensure delivery efficiency and adherence to schedules. Ensure the prompt availability of haulage vehicles for the timely delivery of customer orders. Carry out daily inspections of haulage vehicles before loading to ensure operational readiness. Fleet Maintenance & Asset Management: Monitor and evaluate preventive maintenance schedules to maximize fleet availability and operational efficiency. Monitor the performance and maintenance schedules of forklifts to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Escalate vehicle defects, maintenance concerns, and operational risks for timely resolution. Ensure all company-owned vehicles and registered transporters maintain valid licenses, insurance, permits, and statutory documentation. Vendor & Service Provider Management: Build and maintain effective working relationships with transporters and logistics service providers. Recommend improvements to enhance haulage efficiency and service quality. Monitor transporter and forklift service provider performance against agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Conduct periodic reviews to ensure transporters' documentation, Guarantees in Transit (GIT), insurance policies, and other compliance requirements: remain valid. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly haulage reports. Maintain accurate records of haulage operations and fleet activities. Monitor transporter, forklift service provider, and driver payments to ensure timely processing. Generate reports on diesel allocation and usage, vehicle tracking, transporter performance, and drivers' claims. Review transporter and forklift service provider invoices by raising Service Entry Sheets (SES) in SAP for approval and payment. Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with company Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and transportation regulations. Ensure all haulage operations comply with company policies and statutory requirements. Promote safe loading, transportation, and fleet operating practices. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and operational excellence. What We're Looking For Qualifications: B.Sc. or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience: in transportation scheduling, warehousing, logistics, or distribution operations, preferably within an FMCG environment. Core Skills & Competencies: Strong team management and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage. Ability to anticipate operational challenges and respond proactively. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Good knowledge of inventory control and transportation scheduling. Excellent time management and logical reasoning abilities. Strong understanding of haulage and fleet operations.
