We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Instrument (PACO) Engineering Maintenance Services Officer – Level II Northbank Location: Nigeria Job type: Full-time Start Date: 1st September 2026. Roles and Responsibilities: The PACO/Instrumentation Support will be responsible for the following: Work closely with service Contractor(s) towards safe delivery of vendor-based maintenance jobs. Operation and maintenance of field instrument devices. Calibrations of smart transmitter (using HART communicator), pressure controllers, Safeguarding System devices, Pressure control valves, relief valves, Pressure vacuum valves, Regulators. Promotes site safety and continuous hazard identification, mitigation, and close-out. Integrate with other disciplines to achieve Asset integrity on continuous basis. Other assignments for continuous improvements (AMS process application: RCAs, MTO, MEC etc.) as exigent. Maintain Systems availability for the continuous operation of the facility. Maintenance of HI-Matrix fire and gas systems and Linear Heat detection (LHD) system on crude oil separators vessels/pipping’s. Access and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID); Cause and Effects Matrix (C&E); Process Flow Scheme (PFS); Functional Logic Diagram (FLD); Instrument Loop Drawings (ILD) and Process Engineering Flow Scheme (PEFS) required for fault tracing and issues resolutions. Ensure technical integrity of assets through Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities, quality assurance and performance standard verification of safety critical equipment. Identifying critical spares and follow-up ordering and delivery. Use of diagnostic tools such as Druck Pressure Calibrator, hand pumps, Current Loop Calibrator, Temperature calibrator, AMS Trex, Hart Communicator and other Instrumentation hand tools for testing and fault tracing in Hazardous Areas Ensure periodic health checks on Human Machine Interface workstations and Servers. Systems fault diagnosis and recovery. Carry out calibration of flow and level switches, Digital and Pneumatic Instrumentation, Process Automation and Controls Systems Academics OND / HND / Bachelor's Degree Age: < 55 years. Gender: Male/Female Work Experience: Experience: in Forcados Area will be an added advantage. Minimum of 7 years working experience: in an oil and gas facility working as an Instrumentation Technician. Skills: Experience: in HIMA Planar4 Safeguarding systems SIS maintenance. Experience: in Crude Oil Metering systems, Gas Fiscal metering, Gas chromatograph Analyzer systems. Ability to carry out loop checks and calibrate the GC/Coriolis for crude oil/gas measurements. Field Instrumented Pneumatic/Emerson DELTA-V DCS systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience: in operations and maintenance of Field Instrumentation devices including but not limited to Transmitters (HART). control valves, Flow meters, differential pressure transmitters, Shutdown valves, Motorized Operated Valves, and actuators (MOVs), Switches, Solenoids, loop checks. Experience: in dynamic metering recertification activities including prover loop calibration exercise, meter calibration, crude oil meter proving exercise, fiscal measurement devices maintenance, linearity checks, Autosampler grab performance test and ancillary instrument calibration exercises in line with statutory guidelines will be a great added advantage. Experience: in Distributed Control Systems (Yokogawa Centum VP). Ability to carry out first line trouble shooting using the engineering workstation, carry out control loop tuning, alarm downloads and bad actor analysis. Experience: in PAS and Fire & Gas protection systems. Ability to troubleshoot and rectify Instrumentation faults using P&ID drawings, loop drawings and PEFS. Soft Skills (Added advantage): Ability to work under minimal supervision. Ability to work with other professionals to carry out RCAs & AARs Ability to work under pressure with resilience. Experience: in the collaborative use of electronic permit-to-work systems Good organizational skillsSelf-Motivated and perform under minimal supervision. Demonstration of working across disciplines (Electrical and Mechanical) Computer literate (Competent user of Microsoft Office and ability to liaise with programs) Knowledge of worksite hazard mgt and perimetry systems Experience: in Computerized maintenance management system (SAP) Ability to work under pressure. Work Cycle: Personnel may be required to work extended hours as need may arises. Must be able to climb crude oil storage tanks of around 25metres in height and work on platforms around the tank. The job activity period is daily on 12-hour (7am to7pm) routine over a 21-day period. The successful candidate will manage own absences with his/her contractor for suitable qualified covers. There is a standard 3weeks on and 3weeks off schedule. There may be need for periodic visits to Shell industrial area for trainings and official assignments. Successful candidate will hit the ground running working on a mix of equipment most over two decades old with less OEM support but on gradual upgrade. There may be need to undertake driving of Light vehicles under company guidelines and certification in the course of day-to-day work activities.
