The Legal Officer will advise Management and Council on legal implications of policies, contracts, agreements, and MOUs. He will be expected to draft, review, and vet legal documents, contracts, and stuff service regulations. Liaise with external counsel and regulatory agencies on behalf of the College. The Legal Officer is required to provide guidance and leadership at the Legal Division of the Polytechnic. He is particularly expected to provide sound legal advice, represent the institution at litigation, and support to the College Management and Governing Council on all legal, regulatory, and institutional matters. He is equally expected to draft legal documents and provide guidance on regulatory matters on procurement, contractual matters as well as other matters. Qualifications Having experience: of a practice in a tertiary institution will be an advantage, especially where it could be established that candidate has proven experience: in tertiary institution administration, including academic, regulatory, and NBTE / NUC compliance matters. Reasonable years of post-call cognate experience, preferably not less than 7 years. Evidence of active practice with the Nigerian Bar Association and current practicing certificate. Demonstrated experience: in labour / employment matters, including staff discipline, industrial relations, and representation before Industrial / National Industrial Courts. The candidate must possess a minimum of an LL.B Degree from a recognized University, plus BL from the Nigerian Law School, and called to the Nigerian Bar. A Master's Degree in Law is an added advantage. CONTEDISS 12.
