It started in 1997 as a unit within UPDC Plc and became a standalone company in 2021. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Business Development Officer Location: Lagos Job Purpose The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, developing client relationships, and supporting the growth of UPDC Facility Management Limited’s business portfolio. The role involves promoting the Company’s facility management services, developing proposals, participating in tenders and client presentations, and converting prospective clients into sustainable business relationships. Key Responsibilities: Generate and qualify leads through networking, referrals, industry events, research, and other business development activities. Attend industry conferences, networking events, exhibitions, and professional engagements to promote the Company's services and expand its network. Maintain professional relationships with clients throughout the business development and onboarding process. Arrange and participate in client meetings, site visits, presentations, negotiations, and business development engagements. Maintain an updated database of prospective clients, opportunities, proposals, and business development activities. Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients, property owners, developers, corporate organizations, and other key stakeholders. Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Procurement, Technical, and other relevant departments to ensure proposals are commercially and operationally viable. Support the development of pricing and commercial proposals based on client requirements: and Company standards. Conduct market research to identify potential clients, emerging opportunities, market trends, and competitor activities. Identify opportunities for additional services and business expansion within existing client accounts. Monitor the sales pipeline and provide regular updates on the status of business opportunities. Identify and develop new business opportunities within the facility management and related services sector. Ensure proper handover of newly secured contracts to the Operations team after successful award. Prepare and coordinate business proposals, expressions of interest, quotations, presentations, and tender submissions in collaboration with relevant departments. Prepare periodic business development reports, including leads generated, opportunities pursued, proposals submitted, wins/losses, and projected revenue. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by Management. Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, approval processes, and ethical standards. Follow up on submitted proposals, quotations, and tenders to improve conversion opportunities. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Performance will be assessed based on: Timeliness and quality of business development reports. New contracts secured and revenue generated. Retention and expansion of existing client relationships. Number and value of proposals/tenders submitted. Conversion rate of qualified leads to successful contracts. Growth of the Company's client portfolio. Value of qualified opportunities added to the sales pipeline. Achievement of agreed business development and revenue targets. Number and quality of new business opportunities generated. Qualifications and Experience: Experience: in B2B sales, corporate account management, tendering, and proposal development will be an added advantage. Knowledge of the facility management, real estate, property, construction, or related services industry is desirable. Good analytical, research, and report-writing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant business development tools. Bachelor's Degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Estate Management, Facility Management, Economics, or a related discipline. Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to generate leads, develop client relationships, and convert business opportunities. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and achieve set targets. Minimum of 2–4 years' relevant experiencein business development, sales, marketing, facility management, property management, or a related industry.
