About the Role: AHF is at a pivotal stage of growth, with a major government research partnership, a cardiac surgical centre nearing activation in Kano, and a rapidly expanding portfolio of programmes and partnerships. We are looking for an Operations Manager to sit at the centre of this, someone who can hold the operational engine together, build the internal systems that don\’t yet exist. This is not a back-office role. The Operations Manager will be a key member of AHF\’s leadership team, working directly with the Executive Director and Co-Founders on everything from field programme coordination to partner management to organisational compliance. Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day operations across AHF\’s programmes, ensuring activities are on schedule and within budget Build and maintain operational systems: SOPs, workflows, reporting templates, and internal coordination processes Coordinate across AHF\’s programme teams and partners Oversee logistics for field programmes, events, and missions Support grant compliance: ensuring activities are documented, reported, and delivered on time Manage procurement, vendor relationships, and administrative functions Lead on HR coordination: supporting recruitment, onboarding, and staff management as the team grows Produce regular operational and programme reports for the Executive Director and Board What We Are Looking For: At least 5 years of operations or programme management experience, ideally in a nonprofit, NGO, or healthcare organisation Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing detail Strong systems thinker: someone who builds structures, not just manages tasks Experience: working with government partners or in a regulated programme environment is a strong advantage Excellent written and verbal communication Comfortable working in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment where priorities shift Based in Lagos, with willingness to travel to field sites as required Note that this role may require the operations manager travelling to Kano from time to time.
