We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Costain, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Summary The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to construction and civil engineering projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. Ensuring value for money, cost efficiency, and project profitability We are looking for a competent and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our engineering firm. You will play a key role in minimizing project costs while maintaining the required standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities: Conduct feasibility studies and prepare cost plans and cash flow forecasts. Monitor project progress and prepare regular cost reports and financial statements. Perform cost control and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle. Evaluate and process variations, progress claims, and interim payments. Prepare and agree final accounts at project completion. Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents for ongoing and upcoming construction projects. Support project teams in budget preparation, procurement planning, and cost risk management. Manage contract administration, including tendering, bid evaluation, and negotiation with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure compliance with construction contracts, company policies, and industry regulations. Qualifications and Experience: Professional certification or membership with NIQS, RICS, or equivalent is an advantage Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, contracts (e.g., FIDIC, JCT), and procurement processes. Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and cost management software (e.g., CostX, QS CAD). Solid Knowledge of Project Management is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong analytical, negotiation, and reporting skills. Minimum of 5 years of experience: in the construction industry as a Quantity Surveyor. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
