Job Position: Product Growth Manager – User Acquisition & Retention Job Location: Remote Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a highly hands-on Product Growth Manager to own user acquisition, activation, referral, and retention from the ground up. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving 10,000+ activated users within the first 90 days, building scalable growth channels, understanding user behaviour, and working closely with Product and Engineering to improve the user journey. This is an ownership and execution role for someone who can develop the strategy and personally execute it. Job Responsibilities: Develop and execute a zero-to-one user acquisition and growth strategy. Identify and scale high-performing channels including WhatsApp communities, social media, partnerships, referrals, influencers, organic content, and earned media. Own the full user funnel: acquisition, activation, engagement, referral, and retention. Conduct regular user interviews and focus groups to understand user needs, friction points, and retention drivers. Design and optimise family invitation, referral, and viral growth loops. Study leading platforms and adapt proven growth, content, community, and retention strategies. Run weekly growth experiments across messaging, channels, creatives, and offers. Track and analyse activation, retention, CAC, referrals, funnel performance, and channel contribution. Work closely with Product and Engineering to identify and implement product improvements based on user insights. Build and maintain a growth dashboard and provide weekly performance and learning reports. 90-Day Targets: Days 1–30 Complete product and user journey audit. Conduct user research and focus groups. Launch at least 3 acquisition experiments. Achieve 1,500+ activated users. Days 31–60: Scale the best-performing acquisition channels. Launch a referral/family invitation system. Achieve 20%+ invitation rate among new users. Drive 2–3 product improvements from user insights. Reach 4,000+ cumulative activated users. Days 61–90: Establish at least one predictable, scalable organic/community growth channel. Drive 25%+ of new signups through referrals. Maintain a live weekly growth dashboard. Achieve 10,000+ activated users with a clear path to 50,000+. Job Qualifications Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 4-8 years experience. Proven track record of growing a product, community, platform, business, or personal brand from zero with measurable results. Strong understanding of African and/or diaspora audiences and community dynamics. Hands-on experience: with user acquisition, growth marketing, retention, or product growth. Strong data literacy and understanding of activation, retention, CAC, cohorts, and conversion funnels. Ability to create content, write outreach campaigns, manage communities, build partnerships, and execute growth experiments. Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills. Highly proactive, resourceful, experimental, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced startup environment. Willingness to use the product extensively and engage directly with users.
