We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Lead Safety Engineer Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers Activities The Service Holder shall: Verify compliance of contractor studies and recommendations with project requirements: and Company standards. Coordinate and supervise all safety engineering activities performed by EPC Contractors and specialized Consultants. Identify, assess and support resolution of safety-related technical issues. Ensure timely review, consolidation of comments and approval of safety engineering deliverables. Maintain the Safety Action Register and ensure close-out of recommendations arising from safety studies and reviews. Ensure the safe design of Offshore Facilities in accordance with Company requirements, project specifications and applicable international standards. Participate in technical reviews and technical assurance activities. Promote Safety-in-Design principles throughout all project phases. Risk Assessment and Safety Studies: Coordinate, review and approve all project safety studies and risk assessments. Fire and Explosion Risk Assessments; Dropped Object Studies; Ensure execution and follow-up of: Review design modifications and assess their impact on project risk profile. SIMOPS Assessments; Support development and maintenance of Major Accident Hazard Registers. ALARP Demonstrations. Technological Risk Assessments (TRA); Bow-Tie Analyses; HAZOP Studies; Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA); Ensure identification and management of Safety Critical Elements and associated Performance Standards. Ensure implementation of recommendations resulting from safety reviews. SIL Assessments and Functional Safety Reviews; Fire & Gas Detection Studies; Escape, Evacuation and Rescue Analyses (EERA); Coordinate management of technical deviations, concessions and change requests affecting all packages related to safety design. HAZID Workshops; Interface Management: Manage interfaces with: Ensure consistency of safety philosophies and risk management approaches across all project packages. Process Engineering; Layout and Asset Design Teams; Installation and Construction Teams; Ensure safety requirements: are integrated into design and execution activities. Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs required for safety studies and risk assessments. HSE Teams. Commissioning Teams; Operations and Maintenance Representatives; Instrumentation and Control Teams; Procurement and Fabrication: Support procurement activities relating to safety. Ensure qualification requirements: and technical compliance are maintained throughout procurement and fabrication phases. Review and approve technical requisitions, specifications, vendor documentation and manufacturing dossiers. Monitor Contractor and Vendor performance with respect to engineering, fabrication and manufacturing activities. Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), technical audits and readiness reviews when required. Installation and Construction: Review construction-related risk assessments and safety studies. Participate in constructability, operability and installation reviews. Support management of technical deviations, concessions and Management of Change (MOC) processes from asafety perspective. Ensure SIMOPS studies are developed and regularly updated. Provide safety engineering support during offshore campaigns as required. Support construction and installation teams regarding safety engineering matters. Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning: Contribute to handover dossiers and final safety documentation. Support preparation for operational phase and safe transition to Operations. Participate in commissioning readiness reviews. Promote continuous improvement and implementation of industry best practices. Review commissioning procedures and start-up philosophies from a safety perspective. HSE, Quality and Project Control Monitor Contractor performance and support management of change processes. Ensure all safety requirements: are adequately addressed during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases. Assist project management in the assessment and management of technical risks. Ensure project objectives regarding safety, quality, schedule and cost are achieved. Maintain the highest level of HSE performance throughout all project phases. Support operational risk assessments prior to start-up activities. Liaise with Project QHSE and QA/QC teams to ensure the SURF scope is safe, operable and maintainable. Ensure design and execution activities comply with Company HSE policies and statutory requirements. Qualifications Familiar with Company's standards.
