The organization is implementing the GiveWell Supported project in four states in Nigeria. It is an implementation and research project that aims to distribute over 5million insecticide treated nets (ITN) A major component of the project is demand creation to maximize coverage of ITN ownership and use and to deliver reminders and follow-up during and after the distribution campaigns. Four States have been selected for the campaign including Borno, FCT, Abia and Kogi States LGAs. The project has implementation and research components. The ITN will be distributed to all segments of the population across all LGAs in each selected state For the demand creation (DC) components, messages and materials will be developed, produced, distributed and aired to motivate the target audiences to adopt and maintain the behaviour for ITN ownership, uses and care. The design, review and production of DC material require the task of graphic design, photography, translation of messages, and audio production. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Graphic Artist Location: Kogi Purpose To engage key short-term consultants who will translate messages from English into English, Ebira, Igala, and Yoruba, develop and finalize graphic designs, and produce audio and video messages in four language English, Ebira, Igala, and Yoruba in support of the ITN distribution project in the FCT. Rationale for the Consultancy The assignment is justified by the need to translate messages for print materials and audio/video scripts English, Ebira, Igala, and Yoruba; develop graphic designs for print materials; and produce audio and video messages in four language versions: English, Ebira, Igala, and Yoruba. The majority of the target population are either low-literate or non-literate, hence the need to produce communication materials in appropriate local languages for the target audience. Specific Task, Deliverables and Person Specification Tasks for Graphic Artist: Finalize the designed materials (in high and low resolutions); and submit print ready version to Malaria Consortium Develop computer graphic designs for the print materials in four language versions: Ebira, Igala, and Yoruba, using images and photos as agreed with Malaria Consortium officials. Receive the English versions of the key messages for the print materials, from Kogi-SMEP and MC officials. The Material includes Posters, Leaflets, Faze Caps, Reflective Jackets, T-shirts, Banners; Wall Charts, Announcers Cards; Submit the drafts of the designed print materials to Kogi-SMEP and MC for review Revise the draft of the designed print materials, based on feedback comments from Kogi-SMEP and MC. Deliverable for Graphic Artist: A complete set of final, print-ready communication materials in four language versions English, Hausa, English, Ebira, Igala, and Yoruba including motivational leaflets, message cards for town announcers and community mobilisers, posters and banners. Person Specifications for Graphic Artist: Strong experience: in graphic illustration, layout development and adaptation of materials for multiple language versions. Advanced diploma or first degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Materials Design or a related field. Creative ability and previous experience: designing materials for public health or social behaviour change campaigns. At least eight years’ experience: designing communication materials such as posters, job aids, leaflets, banners and booklets. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple partners and deliver quality outputs within agreed timelines. Good knowledge of production, pre-press and printing processes for communication materials. Proficiency in modern professional design software, including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or similar tools. Previous experience: developing materials for rural, low-literacy and community-based audiences.
