The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of mechanical equipment, utilities, and production systems within the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role ensures equipment availability, safety, efficiency, and compliance with GMP, SOPs, EHS requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and productivity. Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, work orders, and technical reports. Assist in developing and reviewing preventive maintenance schedules and checklists. Troubleshoot mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime. Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment. Maintain and repair pharmaceutical production equipment, including mixers, granulators, tablet presses, capsule machines, coating machines, packing equipment, conveyors, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical systems. Conduct routine inspection of machines, mechanical systems, pipelines, pumps, valves, bearings, gearboxes, and other components. Ensure maintenance activities are performed in accordance with approved SOPs, GMP, and safety procedures. Support the installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation of new equipment and machinery. Participate in equipment breakdown analysis, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Qualifications and Experience: Experience: working with GMP-regulated manufacturing equipment is highly desirable. 5 - 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within pharmaceutical, FMCG, manufacturing environments. Practical experience: in industrial equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering. Professional engineering certification or relevant membership is an added advantage.
