This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can identify opportunities, develop routes to market, build sales channels, improve pricing and sourcing, and drive teams to convert opportunities into completed meter installations. The successful candidate will be expected to think like a business owner: understand where growth will come from, determine what is preventing it, develop solutions, and drive execution. Identify and develop new territories, customer segments, partnerships and distribution channels. Build and improve both physical and digital sales channels, including web-based customer acquisition. Manage the customer funnel from enquiry and payment through installation and completion. Develop pricing models that incorporate product cost, logistics, installation, financing costs, competitor pricing and target margins. Regularly review market and competitor pricing and recommend adjustments. Identify opportunities to reduce meter and deployment costs without compromising quality. Identify, evaluate and negotiate with meter manufacturers, distributors, vendors and other suppliers. Develop commercial partnerships with relevant utilities, installers, property developers, estates, businesses and other channels. Maintain visibility of sales pipeline, payments, installations, inventory, revenue, margins and key business blockers. Set clear priorities for project and field teams and drive actions through to completion. Identify operational or commercial problems early and ensure they are resolved or appropriately escalated. Develop dashboards and trackers that provide reliable visibility into business performance. Run commercial experiments involving pricing, sales channels, advertising, partnerships and new markets, and evaluate results using data. Provide clear weekly updates on performance, pipeline, risks, priorities and actions required. Take ownership of agreed monthly and quarterly business targets. Requirements: HND in business, engineering, economics, finance, marketing, or a related field. Relevant postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications are advantageous but not required. At least 5 years of relevant experience: in business management, business development, commercial management, sales, growth, or a related role. Demonstrated ability to grow revenue, sales volumes, customers or market presence. Strong commercial and financial judgment. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets. Ability to build and understand pricing, margin, and commercial models. Experience: developing sales channels, partnerships or new markets. Strong negotiation and vendor-management capability. Ability to use data to identify problems and make decisions. Strong project and people management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Which channels are working? What should the team do differently this week? What Success Looks Like: Meter sales grow materially. New markets and customer acquisition channels are opened. Digital and physical sales channels generate measurable business. Pricing remains competitive while protecting margins. Meter procurement and deployment costs are continually challenged and improved. Paid customers move efficiently through to installation. Sales, inventory, installations, and commercial performance are visible and accurately tracked. Teams have clear priorities and are actively driven toward results. Senior management does not need to chase for basic business status. Location: Lagos, with responsibility for business performance across multiple markets in Nigeria. Benefits: This is a full-time commitment offered on a renewable contract basis. The position includes a fixed monthly compensation package together with meaningful performance-based commission linked to business growth and metering volumes.
