The role involves providing experienced clinical care in general surgery, managing patients independently across outpatient and inpatient settings, supporting consultant-led care, and supervising junior medical officers. Responsibilities: Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and patient-safety activities. Supervise and support medical officers and trainees, contributing to their development. Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and current MDCN registration/licence in line with internal clinical policy. Support managed-care/HMO processes through evidence-based, cost-effective practice. Provide largely independent assessment, diagnosis and management of patients in general surgery, appropriate to the level of the role, referring complex cases appropriately.
