We are looking for a Junior Security Analyst to join our team and support our security and intelligence operations through monitoring, research, risk assessment, and timely reporting. SBM Intelligence is a leading geopolitical research and intelligence organisation providing data-driven insights, research, and analysis on critical issues across Nigeria and Africa. Key Responsibilities: Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information and intelligence. Escalate significant security incidents or emerging threats promptly. Support security risk assessments for field assignments, projects, and business activities. Track and analyse security incidents and emerging trends that may affect SBM Intelligence, its people, projects, and field operations. Work closely with the Security, Research, Operationson security-related matters. Assist in monitoring security information from news platforms, social media, official sources, and other intelligence channels. Maintain accurate records and databases of security incidents and relevant intelligence. Support the development and review of security procedures, risk mitigation measures. Monitor security-related developments, incidents, and emerging threats across relevant locations and sectors. Perform other security and research-related duties as assigned. Prepare concise security briefs, incident reports, alerts, and situation updates for management and relevant teams. Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) research using credible and publicly available sources. Support the identification and assessment of security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities. Requirements: Good attention to detail and ability to work with sensitive information. Willingness to learn and develop professionally in the security and intelligence space. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Strong research and analytical skills. Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Security Studies, Intelligence Studies, Criminology, International Relations, Political Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and basic data analysis tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 0–2 years of relevant experience: in security analysis, intelligence, risk analysis, research, or a related field. Good understanding of current security and socio-political developments in Nigeria. Ability to gather information from multiple sources, verify information, identify patterns, and draw reasonable conclusions. N150,000 monthly.
