Financial Controller at r-PET Nigeria - Mohinani Group ⏲ Aug 7, 2026, 10:01 AM ⋕ View all Banking & Financial Services jobs Mohinani Group - Our subsidiary, r-PET Nigeria, is recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Financial Controller Location: Nigeria Employment Type: Full-time Purpose The role will also support group finance transformation initiatives including SAP S/4HANA implementation, finance process standardization, internal audit compliance and master data governance across multiple business divisions To lead the finance function for the rPET manufacturing division by ensuring accurate financial reporting & Accounting, MIS, Costing, robust internal controls, compliance, cost management, business partnering, ERP governance, and continuous process improvements. Key Responsibilities: Financial Accounting & Reporting: Ensure compliance with IFRS/local GAAP and Group accounting policies. Prepare monthly management accounts, MIS reports and variance analysis. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and resolve outstanding items. Ensure complete and accurate accounting of all business transactions. Lead month-end and year-end financial closing within agreed timelines. Manufacturing Finance & Cost control: Validate inventory movements and physical stock reconciliations. Review BOMs, production losses, material consumption and conversion costs. Monitor manufacturing costs, production variances and inventory valuation. Support costing updates and product profitability analysis. Partner with Operations to improve manufacturing efficiency and cost optimization. Budgeting & business proposal: Provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability and working capital. Monitor actual performance against budgets. Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Analyse operational and financial KPIs. Statutory tax and Legal compliance: Maintain compliance documentation and statutory records. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, government reporting and regulatory requirements. Monitor changes in statutory requirements: and implement necessary controls. Internal control & Internal Audits: Identify process risks and recommend control improvements. Coordinate internal audit activities across the division. Track closure of audit observations within agreed timelines. Support development and implementation of finance SOPs. Ensure implementation of Group financial policies and internal controls. Maintain audit evidence and compliance documentation. SAP S4Hana & Finance Transformation: Assist in data cleansing, UAT, cutover and post-go-live stabilization. Support SAP S/4HANA migration activities. Recommend automation opportunities and eliminate manual processes. Standardize finance processes across divisions. Validate finance master data including GLs, vendors, customers, cost centers, profit centers and fixed assets. Treasury & working captial: Review customer collections and vendor payments. Improve working capital through receivable, payable and inventory optimization. Monitor cash flow requirements. Support banking transactions and cash management. Governance & Master data management: Monitor system controls and user access from a finance perspective. Ensure integrity of finance master data. Review approval matrices and financial delegations. Maintain chart of accounts and finance configuration governance. Business Partnering: Partner with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain and Commercial teams. Provide financial analysis to support business decisions. Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and investment cases. Support new business initiatives and strategic projects. Team leadership: Promote a culture of accountability, compliance and continuous improvement. Allocate work and monitor performance. Coach and develop finance team members. Build finance capability through process documentation and knowledge transfer. KPI Financial: Working capital improvement Manufacturing cost optimization.
