Beyond recording figures, the Accountant will help management understand where the money is coming from, where it is going, and how the business can improve its financial performance. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and commercially minded Male Acountant to manage the financial records and day-to-day accounting activities of our spa and wellness business. Key Responsibilities: Daily Accounting & Transaction Management: Record and reconcile daily sales and financial transactions. Monitor daily collections and ensure all revenue is properly accounted for. Reconcile cash, POS, bank transfers, and other payment channels. Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly. Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial transactions. Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, payments, and receipts. Revenue & Sales Reconciliation: Reconcile revenue from spa treatments, beauty services, wellness packages, memberships, and product sales. Prepare daily and monthly revenue reports. Monitor discounts, refunds, complimentary services, and adjustments. Cross-check bookings and services rendered against payments received. Identify revenue leakages, unusual transactions, or discrepancies and report them to management. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Verify invoices before payment and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained. Maintain accurate vendor and customer account records. Track receivables and follow up on outstanding payments where applicable. Monitor outstanding supplier balances. Process and maintain records of supplier invoices and payments. Payroll & Staff-Related Payments: Verify staff attendance, commissions, allowances, deductions, and other applicable payments. Calculate therapist/beautician commissions where applicable. Ensure payroll information is accurate and properly documented. Maintain confidentiality of staff financial information. Support the preparation of monthly payroll. Expenses & Cost Control: Identify unusual or unnecessary expenses and bring them to management's attention. Maintain petty cash records and conduct regular reconciliations. Support management in implementing cost-control measures. Monitor spending against approved budgets. Monitor operational expenses and ensure proper documentation and approvals. Inventory & Stock Accounting: Work closely with the Operations Manager to monitor inventory movements. Monitor product usage, wastage, stock losses, and variances. Reconcile physical stock with accounting records where applicable. Record purchases and stock-related transactions accurately. Assist in identifying the financial impact of inventory discrepancies. Financial Reporting: Provide simple financial insights—not just figures—to help management make better business decisions. Highlight significant variances, financial risks, and unusual transactions. Provide management with financial information needed for decision-making. Prepare income and expenditure reports. Prepare accurate weekly and monthly financial reports. Support the preparation of profit and loss statements and cash-flow reports. Tax & Statutory Compliance: Keep up to date with applicable accounting and tax requirements. Support the preparation and filing of applicable tax returns. Ensure relevant deductions and remittances are properly accounted for. Liaise with external accountants, auditors, tax consultants, or relevant authorities when required. Maintain proper records required for tax and statutory reporting. Internal Controls: Maintain appropriate financial controls to safeguard company funds and assets. Identify potential financial risks, fraud indicators, or control weaknesses and report them promptly. Assist management in strengthening financial procedures and accountability. Monitor segregation of duties and approval procedures. Ensure financial transactions follow approved processes. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Performance will be measured using: Accounts payable/receivable accuracy Proper management of petty cash Accuracy and timeliness of financial records Timely preparation of financial reports Inventory reconciliation accuracy Quality and usefulness of financial reports provided to management Reduction in financial discrepancies Effective cost control Daily sales and payment reconciliation Accuracy of payroll and commissions Compliance with tax and statutory obligations Requirements: High level of integrity and confidentiality. 2–5years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a spa, beauty, wellness, hospitality, healthcare, retail, or service-based business. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliation, financial reporting, and basic tax compliance. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Bachelor's degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification or relevant professional certification is an added advantage. Experience: using accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail.
