HVAC Technician - Port Harcourt Job Type Full Time Qualification OND , Secondary School (SSCE) Experience: 5 - 10 years Location Rivers City Port Harcourt Job Field Engineering / Technical We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain air-conditioning systems and related equipment. The ideal candidate must have vast experience: in HVAC/air-conditioning maintenance, with strong technical expertise in servicing and repairing split and standalone/package AC units. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing technical faults, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and providing professional technical support to clients. Key Responsibilities: Carry out installation, servicing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of split and standalone/package AC units. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration faults in air-conditioning systems and implement appropriate repairs. Conduct comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance on split and standalone AC units. Inspect AC systems to identify faults, wear, leaks, electrical issues, and other performance problems. Work with internal AC wiring systems and interpret wiring schematics to accurately diagnose and rectify electrical faults. Test, repair, and replace faulty components including fan motors, run/start capacitors, contactors, relays, thermostats, and other electrical components. Use appropriate HVAC tools and testing equipment to diagnose faults and assess system performance. Respond promptly to AC breakdowns and service requests and ensure issues are resolved efficiently. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, replaced components, and service reports. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with established health, safety, and operational procedures. Carry out basic plumbing-related tasks involving PVC and PPR piping as required. Provide professional and courteous customer service when working at client locations. Qualifications Minimum of SSCE or OND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a related technical field. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience: as an HVAC/AC Technician. Strong technical experience: in servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing split and standalone (package/standing) AC units. In-depth knowledge of internal AC wiring schematics, fan motors, run/start capacitors, and coil sizing/matching. Proven ability to carry out comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance on split and standalone units. Excellent customer-facing skills with a professional attitude and strong communication skills. Hands-on knowledge of PVC & PPR plumbing Candidates residing in Port Harcourt will be considered.
