The Nigerian operation was established as the group's first overseas manufacturing facility. The company manufactures and formulates crop protection chemicals, including pesticides and related agricultural products for the Nigerian and wider African markets. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Chinese Translator Location: Ibeju Lekki, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The successful candidate will support communication between Chinese-speaking clients, employees, management, and business partners, ensuring that information is clearly and accurately understood. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Chinese Translator to provide accurate translation and interpretation between Chinese (Mandarin) and English. Key Responsibilities: Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and client information. Provide consecutive interpretation during meetings, business discussions, site visits, and training sessions. Review and proofread translated documents for grammar, terminology, and accuracy. Support management and other departments with translation and interpretation requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Assist with preparing bilingual documents, presentations, and correspondence. Ensure translations are accurate, clear, culturally appropriate, and consistent with the intended meaning. Translate documents, emails, reports, contracts, manuals, and other business materials between Chinese and English. Facilitate effective communication between Chinese-speaking and English-speaking employees, clients, and partners. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese, Translation, Linguistics, Languages, or a related field is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both written and spoken. Previous experience: as a translator, interpreter, or in a similar role is an advantage. Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate work under pressure. Good organizational and time-management skills. Strong knowledge of Chinese and English grammar, vocabulary, and business terminology. Ability to handle confidential information professionally. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to read and write Simplified Chinese; Traditional Chinese is an added advantage. Experience: with translation tools or CAT tools is an advantage. Knowledge of industry-specific terminology relevant to the company. Experience: working with Chinese companies, Chinese-speaking clients, or multicultural teams.
