Read more about this company Rector Job Type Full Time Qualification PhD/Fellowship , Professional Certificate Experience 17 years Location Taraba Job Field Administration / Facilities The Rector is the Chief Academic, Administrative and Accounting Officer of the polytechnic. The appointed person will be responsible for the daily management of Federal Polytechnic Bali and will exercise general authority over staff and students, subject to the control of the Governing Council. The Rector will also be responsible for discipline within the polytechnic and will provide academic and administrative leadership. As one of the Principal Officers, the Rector will support the advancement of technical and vocational education, research and community service. An applicant must meet all academic, professional, experience, age and personal requirements stated in the advertisement. Candidates who do not meet the listed conditions may not be considered for the appointment. Qualifications Each candidate must hold a Doctorate degree from a recognised university or higher education provider. The PhD must be in a discipline offered within the Polytechnic Sector or the candidate must meet any other qualification stated in the Schemes of Service for appointment as a Chief Lecturer. The applicant must also possess either: A bachelor's degree with at least Second Class Lower Division or A Higher National Diploma with at least Lower Credit The qualification must be in a relevant discipline and must have been obtained from a recognised university, polytechnic or other approved awarding body. Experience Each applicant must have at least 17 years of post-qualification teaching experience in tertiary education. At least 10 of those years must have been spent in a polytechnic or a similar Technical and Vocational Education and Training establishment. The candidate must also be a Chief Lecturer with at least five years of experience on that rank. An applicant must not be more than 59 years old on 6 January 2027. The candidate's date of birth will therefore be assessed against the date on which the office becomes vacant. Applicants should ensure that the date of birth stated in the application corresponds with the supporting records. The candidate must be a registered member of a relevant professional body recognised by the Federal Government. Evidence of the membership should be included among the application records. Where more than one relevant membership is held, the details may be listed in the Curriculum Vitae. Applicants must provide evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals. They must also show participation in academic conferences, seminars and workshops. These records should be clearly listed in the Curriculum Vitae and supported where necessary. The application should present the candidate's teaching and research record in an organised form. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate strong academic and administrative leadership. The advertisement also requires: Initiative and creativity in policy formulation Good human relations Positive management qualities Ability to attract research grants and development support A clear vision for the polytechnic Proven integrity Sound moral character Freedom from financial embarrassment The candidate must also be physically and mentally fit. Evidence of physical and mental fitness must be issued by a Government Hospital. The supporting medical record should be available as part of the candidate's credentials. Shortlisted applicants may also be required to present original records during the interview. Each applicant must prepare a statement describing the proposed direction for Federal Polytechnic Bali. The statement must not exceed 20 pages. It should be submitted with the application and the required copies of the Curriculum Vitae. The appointment will be for one term of five years. The single tenure is provided under the Federal Polytechnics Amendment Act, 2019. The advertisement does not provide for a second term.
