We are seeking an experienced and dependable Auto Electrician & Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Apapa, Lagos. Key Responsibilities: Perform other maintenance-related duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify electrical and mechanical problems. Inspect and maintain vehicle air-conditioning systems where required. Inspect engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering, cooling, and fuel systems. Perform engine tune-ups and general mechanical repairs. Conduct regular vehicle inspections and identify potential faults before breakdowns occur. Carry out routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs. Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, parts used, and vehicle maintenance history. Troubleshoot faults in starting, charging, lighting, ignition, wiring, sensors, and control systems. Comply strictly with company HSE policies and workshop safety procedures. Ensure all repairs are completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company procedures. Ensure all tools, workshop equipment, and diagnostic equipment are properly maintained. Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical and electronic systems. Repair, replace, and test alternators, starters, batteries, wiring, fuses, relays, switches, and other electrical components. Work closely with drivers and fleet supervisors to identify and resolve recurring vehicle issues. Respond to vehicle breakdowns and carry out roadside or on-site repairs when necessary. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in trucks, trailers, cars, and other fleet vehicles. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Reduction in vehicle breakdowns and downtime Timely completion of preventive maintenance Proper use and control of spare parts Compliance with HSE and workshop procedures Compliance with maintenance schedules Quality and accuracy of repairs Fleet availability and reliability. Requirements: & Qualifications Must demonstrate strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Experience: working in a fleet, logistics, transport, construction, or industrial environment is preferred. Good understanding of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicle maintenance. Good knowledge of both vehicle mechanical and electrical systems. Experience: troubleshooting 12V/24V vehicle electrical systems. Strong experience: working on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, buses, or commercial vehicles. Minimum of 3–5 years’ proven experience: as an Auto Electrician, Mechanic, or Auto Electrician/Mechanic. Ability to work independently and respond effectively to vehicle breakdowns. Relevant technical qualification, such as OND, Trade Test, City & Guilds, NABTEB, or equivalent, is an advantage. Ability to use automotive diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment. Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
