Working across our Lagos and Nairobi teams, the officer will coordinate campaigns and public-facing communications for new and backlist titles while helping to maintain a distinctive and consistent company's brand. This is an opportunity to contribute practical ideas, develop professionally and support the growth of a dynamic African publishing house. The role brings together book marketing, digital communications, publicity and audience development to build meaningful connections between African stories and their readers. We are seeking a creative and highly organised Communications and Digital Marketing Officer to strengthen how our books, authors and publishing work reach readers in Africa and beyond. Responsibilties Campaigns and Brand Communications: Coordinate pre-publication, launch and post-publication campaigns for new and backlist titles. Work with internal teams to align marketing activity with publication and sales priorities. Maintain a consistent company's voice and brand presentation across public communications. Develop clear campaign messages, content plans, schedules and promotional materials. Digital Content and Audience Engagement: Maintain accurate book descriptions, keywords, categories, author biographies and website information with the IT manager. Prepare concise reports on campaign activity, media coverage, website traffic and audience engagement Support paid digital advertising and track campaign reach, engagement and audience growth. Create, schedule and manage content for the website, social media channels and newsletters. Support SEO and address discoverability gaps across retailer, catalogue and reader platforms with the IT manager. Develop content that connects books and authors with relevant reader and cultural conversations. Publicity, Authors and Partnerships: Build relationships with reviewers, media, booksellers, book clubs, festivals and literary communities. Coordinate press materials, review copies, media outreach and publicity for titles and authors. Support authors’ campaign participation and communications for launches, readings and appearances. Key Performance Indicators Titles and authors achieve improved visibility, engagement and media coverage. Authors, colleagues, partners and vendors receive clear and professional communication. Digital platforms, title information and campaign records remain current and well coordinated. Campaigns and communications are accurate, timely and aligned with publication priorities. Skills and Qualifications Demonstrated interest in publishing, African literature, digital marketing, publicity, or audience development. Undergraduate Degree or current enrolment in Humanities or a related field. Good knowledge of social media, content planning, email marketing, SEO and basic analytics. A degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Publishing, Media, Humanities or a related field. Excellent organisation, attention to detail and ability to manage several deadlines. Relevant experience: in communications, digital marketing, publicity, media, publishing or culture; experience: in a content-led organisation is an advantage. Strong writing, copywriting, editing, proofreading and communication skills. N200,000 per month.
