We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Electrical Engineer Locations: Ibafo - Ogun and Ibadan - Oyo Employment Type: Full-time Reporting To: Engineering Manager / Chief Engineer Job Summary The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, reliability, troubleshooting, and optimization of all electrical systems and equipment within the cashew processing plant. The successful candidate will support preventive and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshoot electrical and automation-related issues across cashew processing operations, lead electrical improvement projects, and ensure the safe and reliable operation of all plant electrical infrastructure and utilities. The role requires strong technical expertise in electrical power distribution, industrial automation, motor control systems, instrumentation, and plant maintenance to ensure maximum equipment availability, operational efficiency, product quality, and safety compliance. Key Responsibilities: Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance plant reliability, productivity, and energy efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults involving motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, PCCs, VFDs, generators, conveyors, sorting machines, dryers, shelling equipment, and packaging line machinery. Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on plant electrical equipment and systems. Conduct root cause analysis of electrical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure reliable operation of HT/LT electrical systems, electrical panels, and utility equipment serving cashew processing operations. Power Distribution & Plant Utilities: Ensure efficient operation of diesel generators, compressors, boilers, air handling systems, and backup power infrastructure. Maintain and monitor power distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protection systems. Participate in testing, commissioning, and startup activities for new electrical systems and production equipment. Support energy management initiatives to optimize power consumption across processing lines. Automation & Production Support: Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to support maintenance and project execution. Support troubleshooting of PLCs, instrumentation devices, sensors, transmitters, weighing systems, and control systems used in cashew processing operations. Assist in process optimization and automation projects aimed at improving productivity, yield, and product quality. Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance. Engineering Projects & Documentation: Utilize AutoCAD Electrical to read, interpret, and update electrical drawings and technical documentation. Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and technical documentation. Support plant expansion projects, equipment installations, and electrical upgrades. Participate in equipment erection, testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities. Spare Parts & Inventory Management: Assist in vendor evaluation and technical specification reviews for electrical materials and equipment. Identify and maintain critical electrical spare parts inventory. Monitor stock levels of electrical components and ensure timely procurement. Safety, Compliance & Team Collaboration: Enforce safe work practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical isolation protocols. Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, electrical safety standards, food safety regulations, and statutory requirements. Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. Train and guide technicians on electrical maintenance best practices and troubleshooting techniques. Qualifications & Requirements: Minimum of 4-7 years' experience: in industrial electrical maintenance. Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Must have at least 2 years of experience: in the cashew processing industry. Technical Skills MCC & PCC Systems HT/LT Electrical Installations Transformers and Switchgear Diesel Generators and Backup Power Systems PLC and Industrial Automation Systems Process Equipment Used in Cashew Processing Plants Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and maintenance practices. Power Distribution Systems Good understanding of: Industrial Motors and Motor Controls Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD Electrical. Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Additional Requirements: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to plant emergencies.
