They are looking to hire an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer who will oversee the operations and maintenance of the company’s projects including Mini-Grids, Commercial & Industrial etc., ensuring optimal system performance, compliance with safety standards, and high system reliability. You will support in leading a team of technicians, manage vendor collaborations, and ensure the seamless operation of the company's solar PV systems. Job Responsibilities: Operations Management: Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of the company’s power projects to maintain peak performance. Monitor system performance, analyze data, and promptly troubleshoot faults to minimize downtime. Preventive Maintenance Develop and implement Maintenance Job Routines (MJRs) and work packets. Conduct routine inspections, testing, and scheduled maintenance to ensure equipment efficiency and reliability. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and equipment performance. Corrective Maintenance Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues in solar power systems. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement improvement initiatives. Performance Optimization: Conduct energy calculations, inspections, and performance analysis to enhance system efficiency. Prepare and execute system performance improvement plans. HSE and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities meet the Company’s HSE requirements: and comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including NEC (National Electrical Code) and OSHA standards. Actively identify, mitigate, and close out safety hazards during maintenance activities. Team and Vendor Clarification Collaborate with service contractors to ensure efficient vendor-based maintenance tasks. Supervise on-site inspections, repairs, and specialized services. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit performance reports, incident records, and maintenance documentation. Continuous Improvement Evaluate current operating and maintenance procedures, providing recommendations for improvement. Undertake assignments aimed at process optimization and enhanced system reliability. Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience: in solar PV operations and maintenance. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, and transformers. Expertise in troubleshooting, energy calculations, and system optimization. Certifications: COREN Registered Engineer (preferred). Relevant certifications (e.g., Mini-Grid Design, SPVIS, NAPTIN). Professional Memberships: Membership in professional associations like the NSE, NEMSA, NIPE etc. Other Skills: Excellent problem-solving and team management abilities.
