The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience: using SAP, be a Chartered Accountant, and have at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience: within the FMCG industry. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Port Harcourt. Key Responsibilities: Ensure proper accounting for purchases, sales, expenses, fixed assets, and other business transactions. Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and working capital. Perform other accounting and financial duties assigned by management. Perform bank, vendor, customer, and intercompany reconciliations. Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Ensure compliance with relevant tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements. Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Monitor and report key financial performance indicators to management. Monitor inventory accounting, stock valuation, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing-related accounting transactions. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, journals, accruals, and provisions. Assist with internal and external audits and provide required schedules and supporting documentation. Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Review financial data and investigate variances between actual and budgeted results. Ensure proper recording and classification of financial transactions in SAP. Strengthen financial controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes. Support month-end and year-end closing processes. Work closely with procurement, sales, supply chain, warehouse, operations, and other departments to resolve financial and reconciliation issues. Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of financial records. Required Qualifications Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Must have hands-on experience: using SAP for accounting and financial transactions. Must be a Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent professional qualification). Experience: with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Good understanding of inventory, cost accounting, reconciliations, and financial controls. Experience: working with auditors and statutory / regulatory requirements. Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles. Minimum of 5 years' relevant accounting experience, with significant experience: in the FMCG industry. Mandatory Requirements: Candidates must meet all of the following: Willingness and ability to work onsite in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Strong practical knowledge and hands-on SAP experience.
