The Graduate Trainee will work closely with experienced members of the Finance team, supporting day-to-day financial operations while developing the knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies required for a successful career in finance and accounting. Roadlamp Limited is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Graduate Trainee to join our Finance team. Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning and Analysis: Support the analysis of financial information and company performance. Learn to interpret financial data and provide basic insights under supervision. Assist the Finance team with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Assist in preparing financial reports and management summaries. Budget Monitoring: Assist in monitoring departmental and project budgets. Support the preparation of budget variance reports. Gain practical knowledge of budget preparation and financial resource management. Assist in identifying significant variances and escalating them to the appropriate supervisor. Financial Reporting and Accounting: Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation. Support the recording and processing of financial transactions. Assist with account reconciliations and verification of financial records. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and periodic financial reports. Support the Finance team in ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Cash Flow and Treasury Support: Support payment processing and documentation in line with company procedures. Gain practical exposure to working capital and cash management activities. Assist with the monitoring of receivables and payables. Assist in monitoring daily cash inflows and outflows. Support the preparation and updating of cash flow reports. Compliance and Internal Controls: Escalate identified discrepancies or irregularities to the appropriate supervisor. Learn and apply basic financial controls designed to safeguard company assets. Support the maintenance of proper financial records and documentation. Assist in ensuring financial transactions comply with company policies and procedures. Assist with internal and external audit requirements. General Finance Support: Assist with day-to-day activities within the Finance and Accounts department. Participate in finance-related projects and assignments as required. Support the Finance team with data entry, filing, documentation, and record keeping. Carry out other duties assigned by the Finance Manager or designated supervisor. Assist with invoice verification, expense documentation, and account reconciliations. Job Requirements: Relevant internship, Industrial Training (IT), NYSC, or entry-level finance experience: is an added advantage. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software is an advantage. 0 - 1 year of relevant work experience. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles. ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or other relevant professional qualifications/certifications in progress is an advantage but not mandatory. Previous exposure to the Oil & Gas industry is an advantage. Must be resident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. B.Sc. or HND (Upper Credit or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Skills & Abilities: Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly. Strong numerical and analytical skills. High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Good attention to detail and accuracy. Willingness to learn and develop professionally. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to work effectively within a team.
