We are seeking to hire an experienced and highly disciplined Chief Security Officer (CSO) to oversee and manage all security operations at its Kano facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing security strategies, safeguarding company assets, personnel, and operations, as well as ensuring compliance with corporate security policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage site security policies, procedures, and protocols. Develop emergency response plans and coordinate crisis management activities. Prepare and submit periodic security reports to management. Lead and supervise security teams, contractors, and guards to ensure effective security coverage. Maintain effective relationships with host communities and local authorities. Ensure compliance with company security standards and regulatory requirements. Perform other security-related duties as assigned by management. Gather and analyze security intelligence relevant to business operations. Coordinate security awareness programs and training for employees. Monitor and investigate security incidents, breaches, theft, vandalism, and other security-related matters. Conduct investigations and recommend corrective actions where necessary. Manage access control systems, surveillance equipment, and other security infrastructure. Liaise with law enforcement agencies, military formations, civil defense, and other security stakeholders. Conduct regular security risk assessments and implement mitigation measures. Oversee the security of company personnel, assets, facilities, and operations. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or HND in Security Management, Criminology, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. Military or law enforcement training/certification is highly desirable. Relevant security certifications will be an added advantage. Experience: Proven experience: in an industrial, manufacturing, mining, steel, or related operational environment is required. Experience: managing large-scale security operations and teams. Strong network and experience: working with security agencies and government authorities. Minimum of 8-15 years' experience: in security management. Military experience: is mandatory. Required Skills & Competencies: Effective stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution abilities. Security risk assessment and crisis management expertise. Strong leadership and people management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies. Excellent knowledge of industrial and corporate security practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Incident investigation and report writing skills. High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion. Additional Requirements: Candidate must be currently based in Kano State or willing to relocate to Kano. Ability to speak and understand Hausa fluently is essential. Strong understanding of the security dynamics within Northern Nigeria will be an added advantage.
