As part of its growth and market expansion, our client is seeking a driven, commercially minded, and results-oriented Business Development Officer to support customer acquisition, revenue growth, market penetration and strategic partnerships. Key Responsibilities: The Business Development Officer will: Generate, qualify, and manage leads across target customer segments. Represent the company at relevant legal, business, technology, and networking events. Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to support commercial strategy. Drive the acquisition of lawyers, law firms, businesses, and other relevant users of the company's solutions. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and partners. Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and sales meetings. Develop relationships with business owners, executives, lawyers, law firm partners, and other decision-makers. Prepare periodic business development and sales reports. Identify and pursue strategic partnerships with professional associations, business organizations, startup communities, and other relevant institutions. Work with Operations to ensure successful onboarding of newly acquired customers. Prepare proposals, presentations, and business development materials. Manage prospects from initial engagement through follow-up, negotiation, and conversion. Identify and pursue new business and revenue opportunities. Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and conversions using the company's CRM. Meet agreed customer acquisition, partnership, and revenue targets. Target Market: The successful candidate will primarily develop opportunities across: Strategic Partners: Professional associations, business organisations, chambers of commerce, startup communities, accelerators and other institutions capable of supporting the company's growth. Businesses: Startups, SMEs and established organisations that can benefit from technology-enabled legal operations and access to legal professionals. Legal Professionals: Individual lawyers, law firms and other professionals within the legal ecosystem. Qualifications and Experience: The ideal candidate should possess: Strong networking, prospecting and follow-up skills. Experience: in LegalTech, technology startups, SaaS, professional services, law firms or B2B technology will be an advantage. A law degree is preferable but not mandatory. Demonstrable ability to generate leads and convert prospects into customers. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. An existing network among lawyers, law firms, business owners, SMEs, startups or corporate decision-makers will also be beneficial. A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience: in business development, B2B sales, partnerships or customer acquisition. Strong commercial awareness and ability to work independently towards agreed targets. Strong negotiation and relationship-management abilities. Familiarity with CRM and digital productivity tools. Good understanding of sales processes and pipeline management. A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Law, Economics, Communications or a related discipline. Confidence engaging business owners, executives and other decision-makers. What We Are Looking For: Most importantly, we want someone who can identify opportunities, open doors and convert relationships into customers, partnerships and revenue. We are looking for someone who is ambitious, confident, articulate, persuasive and target-driven. Compensation N150,000 – N300,000 per month, depending on experience: and demonstrated capability, plus performance-based incentives linked to customer acquisition, revenue generation, and agreed commercial targets.
