We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Production Manager Location: Kuje, Abuja (FCT) Industry: Manufacturing (Tissue paper converting company) Job Summary The ideal candidate should have strong engineering, electrical, mechanical, and technical skills, with a proven track record of managing production operations in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining machinery and equipment, minimizing downtime, ensuring product quality, and meeting daily and monthly production targets. We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Production Manager to oversee and manage the company’s production operations. Key Responsibilities: Maintain proper production records, including output, machine downtime, material usage, maintenance activities, and production losses Work with the Quality Control team to identify and resolve production-related quality issues Supervise, train, and coordinate production operators, technicians, and other production staff Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical, mechanical, and technical faults affecting production Analyze production challenges and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency and productivity Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental, and manufacturing standards Ensure that finished products meet the required quality standards Perform other duties related to production and technical operations as assigned by management Manage production costs and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary expenses Monitor the efficient use of raw materials and minimize production waste Ensure proper housekeeping and a safe working environment within the production area Monitor the operation and performance of production machines and equipment Ensure proper installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems, production equipment, and machinery Prepare regular production reports for management Ensure production staff comply with company policies, standard operating procedures, and safety regulations Recommend upgrades, modifications, or improvements to machinery and production processes Liaise with procurement and management to ensure timely availability of raw materials, spare parts, and other production requirements: Ensure production targets are achieved efficiently and within scheduled timelines Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily tissue paper production activities Work closely with maintenance personnel to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce machine breakdowns and production downtime Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements or replacements where necessary Required Qualifications Practical knowledge of machine troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial machinery and production equipment Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience: in production or manufacturing management Preferred Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and team-management skills Experience: with industrial electrical systems, motors, sensors, control panels, PLCs, and automation Knowledge of generators, compressors, pumps, and other industrial utility systems Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, machine manuals, and technical drawings Familiarity with inventory management and spare-parts control Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased production efficiency Good knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults Knowledge of tissue paper production and converting machines Control of production costs Good understanding of production processes and manufacturing operations Good computer skills and ability to prepare production reports and analyze production data.
