Accounts Payable Officer Job Type Full Time Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience: Location Lagos Job Field Finance / Accounting / Audit Job Summary We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our team in Ikoyi, Lagos. Key Responsibilities: Process invoices within 24 hours and ensure payments are completed within agreed timelines. Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents. Verify approvals, supporting documentation, invoice amounts, and compliance with the approval matrix. Ensure there is no duplication or overstatement of invoices. Resolve invoice and vendor discrepancies promptly. Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor payable records. Record and reconcile transactions using Excel and/or ERP systems. Prepare weekly and monthly MIS reports. Reconcile vendor payments and maintain proper financial records. Maintain organized physical and electronic records of processed invoices. Respond to vendor payment enquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships. Follow up with business units on outstanding vendor payments. Monitor essential service payments to prevent disruption of services. Follow up on outstanding IOUs and ensure timely settlement. Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager/Unit Head. What We’re Looking For Candidates with relevant experience: in Accounts Payable, Finance, Accounting, or Administration. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good knowledge of invoice processing, reconciliation, vendor management, and financial documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of ERP systems is an added advantage. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with deadlines and effectively manage multiple transactions.
