We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Lifting Supervisor Reference: 2026-2486 Location : Port Harcourt, Rivers Employment Type: Technical support Contract Job Summary The role ensures full compliance with HSE requirements, project specifications, and international lifting standards while operating in a high-risk environment. Within Oil & Gas projects in Nigeria, the Lifting Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all lifting operations on site, both onshore and offshore. Job Responsibilities: The position we are offering involves the following main responsibilities: Supervision & Coordination: Supervise and coordinate all lifting operations on site (onshore and offshore), Coordinate lifting activities with other disciplines and contractors on site. Act as the focal point between construction teams, methods engineering, HSE, and project management, Engineering & Preparation: Develop and review lifting plans in close cooperation with the methods and preparation teams; Select and approve appropriate lifting equipment and technical means (cranes, rigging gear, accessories). Define and validate lifting procedures in accordance with Oil & Gas project constraints; HSE & Compliance: Perform risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for lifting operations; Lead toolbox talks and actively participate in site safety meetings. Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, local Nigerian regulations, and international standards (API, ISO, LOLER, etc.); Team Management: Supervise, train, and mentor lifting personnel (crane operators, riggers, banksmen); Ensure personnel competency, valid certifications, and compliance with training requirements. Inspection & Maintenance: Carry out regular inspections of lifting equipment and lifting accessories; Ensure lifting equipment certification and maintenance records are up to date; Prepare and issue incident, inspection, and maintenance reports. Operational Follow-Up: Optimize the use of human and material resources throughout project execution. Manage unforeseen situations and resolve technical issues related to lifting activities; Plan and schedule lifting operations in line with project timelines; Communication & Reporting: Provide regular activity and progress reports to project management.
