This is not a purely accounting role. We are looking for someone who understands financial controls, reconciliations, reporting, audit, compliance and business operations, and can take ownership of responsibilities: with minimal supervision. We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented and commercially aware Finance & Operations Officer to join our client’s team in Lekki. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in finance and accounting, with practical audit experience: and the ability to support both the financial management and day-to-day operational activities of the business. Key Responsibilities: Review financial processes and identify control weaknesses, discrepancies and potential risks. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of transactions. Implement and monitor internal financial controls and operational procedures. Monitor operational expenses and ensure adherence to approved budgets. Support management with financial analysis and other business performance reports. Perform bank, cash, receivables and payables reconciliations. Coordinate administrative and operational processes to ensure smooth day-to-day business activities. Manage day-to-day financial transactions, bookkeeping and accounting records. Monitor cash flow and support effective cash management. Liaise with banks, vendors, auditors and other relevant stakeholders when required. Support internal and external audit processes and provide required schedules and documentation. Prepare periodic financial reports, schedules and management accounts. Perform other finance and operations duties as assigned by management. Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial and operational records. Support statutory and regulatory compliance activities. Assist with budgeting, forecasting and expense monitoring. Investigate financial discrepancies and ensure timely resolution. Requirements: Male. Excellent attention to detail and numerical ability. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline. Strong Excel and accounting software skills. Good understanding of internal controls, compliance and financial risk management. Experience: preparing financial reports and supporting audit assignments. ICAN qualification or currently in view is mandatory. 3 - 6 years of relevant experience: in finance, accounting, audit or financial operations. Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities. Practical audit experience: is mandatory. Must be willing to work fully onsite in Lekki, Monday to Friday. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls and reconciliations. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
