A Construction Lab Technician (also known as a Materials Testing Technician or Concrete/Soil Lab Technician) tests construction materials to confirm they meet quality and safety standards. Key Duties Collect and prepare samples of concrete, soil, asphalt, aggregates, and related materials. Run standard laboratory tests, including: Concrete: slump, compressive strength, air content Soil: moisture content, density (Proctor), Atterberg limits, sieve analysis Asphalt: gradation, binder content, density Operate and maintain testing equipment. Record results accurately and prepare reports. Support field sampling when needed. Keep the lab clean, calibrated, and safe.
