Pack ‘N’ Pay officially started operations on January 18th 2021 and launched her e-commerce website on March 1st 2021. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Accounting Manager Location: Head Office, Port Harcourt - Rivers Employment Type: Full-time Department: Finance & Accounts Role Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. This role will work closely with the CEO and CFO to provide timely financial insights that support sound business decisions while ensuring the integrity of the company's financial records. The successful candidate will supervise the accounting team, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions. Prepare management accounts and provide financial insights to support decision-making. Supervise the daily activities of the Accounting Department. Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure payroll-related accounting entries are accurately posted. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Conduct financial analysis, cost analysis, and variance reporting. Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements. Compliance & Internal Controls Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets. Ensure accounting policies comply with applicable accounting standards and company procedures. Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations. Ensure compliance with tax laws and statutory obligations including VAT, PAYE, WHT, Pension, NSITF, ITF, and other regulatory requirements. Inventory & Cost Control Support periodic inventory counts and reconciliations. Monitor cost trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives. Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to maintain inventory accuracy. Oversee inventory accounting and stock reconciliation. Team Leadership: Allocate work, review outputs, and ensure high standards of accuracy. Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and financial controls. Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, HR, Sales, and other departments to improve business performance. Supervise, coach, and develop members of the Accounting Department. Requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software (Zoho experience: is an advantage). Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, internal controls, and accounting principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Excellent communication, integrity, and attention to detail. Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience: in accounting, finance, or financial management, including supervisory responsibilities. Professional certification such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
