We are looking for an Educator who can go beyond teaching sewing techniques to inspire students to create, design, solve problems, and see the possibilities in their skills. The successful candidate will combine strong practical garment-making expertise with the ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging theoretical and practical Garment Making lessons. Teach sewing, pattern drafting, fabric selection, garment construction, finishing techniques, and basic fashion design. Demonstrate the safe and effective use of sewing machines, tools, and garment-making equipment. Design practical projects that develop students' creativity, precision, craftsmanship, and problem-solving skills. Assess students' theoretical knowledge and practical competence and provide constructive feedback. Prepare lesson plans, instructional resources, practical projects, assessments, and student records. Maintain a safe, clean, organised, and well-equipped practical learning environment. Monitor garment-making equipment and report maintenance or replacement needs. Support students in preparing projects for exhibitions, competitions, school events, and other enrichment activities. Introduce students to the entrepreneurial and commercial possibilities within garment making and fashion. Participate actively in departmental activities, school programmes, and professional development. Contribute to the holistic development of students in keeping with the College's values and the Portrait of the Wellspring Learner. What We Are Looking For A Bachelor's Degree, HND, NCE, or relevant professional qualification in Fashion Design, Garment Making, Clothing & Textiles, Home Economics, or a related field. Strong practical competence in garment making and sewing. Previous teaching experience, preferably within a secondary school environment. Proficiency in sewing techniques, pattern making, garment construction, fabric handling, and finishing. Ability to operate and confidently demonstrate the use of relevant sewing machines and equipment. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Creativity, patience, attention to detail, and excellent organisational skills. Ability to engage adolescents through practical and project-based learning.
